You might consider renaming it for clarity then? As in NetEpic Appendices or similar. I'd be wary about putting errata in a book named "optional".

Hi!

Agreed. The term has been more of a placeholder. Also the term was coined long ago and the original intent of this book has long since changed.

When the time comes I'll try to come up with a better name for the book. ;)

Seems a bit cheap for basically terminators on bikes.

What points would you suggest? I was really was not sure what to value them at

Terminators come with Land raiders and have better saves and shoot better.
Bikes are quicker and shoot better
Are there any other closer comparison units?
This made it hard for me to value them.
I stated at teminators 350
I dropped 160 for the loss of the 2 landraiders
added a 30 for the move
and dropped 25 loss of save
and dropped 20 for loss of shooting

Where do you feel i went wrong?

Are there Titan experience rules anywhere? I checked the core rules & optional rules but dunno if I've just missed them.

Not sure about the points what so you think?

Thunder wolfes with pistols should have lower CC value compared to the CC experts
or do I miss something
whats the difference between with pistols and with thundershield?
175-200 seems a good value for mee they are indeed less armoured an do not have the powerfull Terminator weapons.
Yes they are fast and hard hitting Cc Cads
but targets for such a unit are limited
It would be a vaste throwing them on let me say IG troopers or similar troops on FF.

Keep it up guys
also would like to hear your thoughts about the Landraider variants and The Crassus/Praetor vehicles.

cheers

Ule

Hmm maybe
the pistols in 40k mean they have more attacks but you have made realise that the pistol twc should not have fixed save (cut and paste error ) as they don't have shields

Hi guys we have to talk about the Squat gyrocopters.
They are silliy using them as skimmers.

They are helicopters and should be floater imo.
Their stats say FLYER but their rules try to make skimmers out of them.

I've just checked the Squat Gold Book and I do not see where Squat Gyros are noted fliers ? They are noted skimmer everywhere ::) Both in description and in stats table.

Just check the Floater rules, you'll see that would grant a lot of advantages to the gyros (always on First Fire, High altitude, Shoot the thin part, can not be engaged in CC by something else than fliers/floaters...)

It was confusing what I have written.
I know that the Gyros are decölared as skimmers.

What I meant with stats is that they have the armour an weaponary from flyers but are treaten like let me say falcon tanks.

I can´t imagine soldiers jumping up to helicopter engaging them in CC(this is what happens a lot)
On the other hand in my battle right now
I moved the gyros on advance now(according to the rules) they can´t shoot over the wall cause they have advance not firstfire.
Its hard for me to imagiene that a helicopter is not able to shoot over a 6m high wall
cause he skimms 10cm above the ground(what is much more realistic to Falcon tank ect.)

The gyros although are equipped with short to medium rangen weaponary (like flyers).

What I want to say as the Squats´s main aroured vehicle the Gyros are bad...very bad
they are worse than other skimmer tanks due to a combination of weak armour and short ranged weaponary
they are worse than flyers because they cant go at high altitude to make more use of their weaponary and can get
They are worse than other(fast)skimmers because they are expensive and limited in numbers.

I use gyros in battle because they look cool and are really Squattish units but useless most of the time
and got heavy casualities every battle.

Make a special rule vertical flyers, copters what ever but as pure skimmers they are crap and sensless
you cant compare a hovertank with a helicopter.

Those rule is from SM/TL days were they had no Flyers at all.
The thunderhawk also was changed from ???? to a flyer why the hell not the gyrocopters.

Its a thing I noticed every Squatbattle but forget to tell you about.

Gyros are not really helicopters, they just have some kind of thrusters that allow them to "fly" at ground level over obstacles like marines Land Speeders.

According to the blister, standard bases for them was the clear "flying" stand so they have a line of sight that's about 3cm over covers, you 6mm wall should not block their LOS.

Gyro is a hard to use unit because of their stats (not really good for close combat, not that good at firing (hit on a 5+), not very well protected) BUT they are excellent for hassling enemy. With a such movement range (80cm in charge) and the ability to pop-up and capture objectives (a floater can not contest objectives), your opponent can not leave an objective without protection turn #2 or turn #3.

It was even harder before NetEpic to use them, they were the only "light tank" available in the squat weaponry now, you can pick ironhammer/retributors.

Do you draw your line of sight from the model on stand
or from where it should be theoretical in real (on the Ground or a few cms above)

That would also be a big disadvantage cause I have NOT mounted all my skimmers on flying stands
every one mounted would be a more easy target.
So you would need a big building to hide them.

I tend to play much bigger battles like the standard ones(3-6K)
and also the objektives are not too important for me so I can not really use those tactics but thats my problem.

I am sure you see the problem the Gyros ARE the main Squat armoured vehicles and should be.
The Ironshields/hammers were developed because the gyros are too weak.
The Ironhammres/shields are one of the best tanks available in the whole game.

I wont change the Gyros completely for Irons, though.

If the Gyros were develped as a fast and light attack vehicle they should be cheaper IMO

It´s really sad since I fell in love with the gyros the 1st time I saw them. :sos
