Eeek, more squats.
Mock the little b~ggers at your peril, that's what I say. My heaviest defeat in memory came against the shorties- a withering two turns of firepower left me totally smashed to pieces. Not used em much myself- but a scary approach is to pack the firepower in BIG time and concentrate your fire carefully, before finishing the job with bikers to grab the now smouldering enemy objectives and/or counter attack and deal with anyone who gets too close. Little gits, the lot of them.

*sigh* sadly, most of the ebay crowd seem to fancy the goliaths too. they go for outragious prices as well as most other things even remotely squat-related. there must be some pretty desperate collectors out there.

and yes, that squat army made my chair wet with envy.... or so i tell myself :)

If you take the long view, I think you can do really well off Ebay.  For a long while there was almost no demand for Squat stuff and I picked up most of my army for a small fraction of E:A RRP prices.  For some reason there seems to be an upswing in demand for the Stunties, but I bet it will abate.

If you're not a purist, Goliaths would be easy to scratchbuild.  Let's face it, the originals aren't the cleverest looking mini ever made  :p .  Get 3 plastic Quake Cannon and 3 plastic Land Raiders and you're just about there really.

fancy chaos list :) the ziggurat seems tempting, but unless the model i come up with is really good i cant imagine fielding it. hmmmm....mega gargant as a base.... hmmmm ;)

I started making one:

But I figure it would be fairly simple to mock one up from a 1/72nd scale Panther tank and some putty.  You could also just use a Capital Imperialis, or that neat giant mobile Cathedral Otterman made.

@netepic & Brother-Captain Parzval & togarini: Thanks  :grin:

@togarini: if you're not in a hurry, you surely be able to collect all the needed minis at a good price. It may take few monthes to see an interesting army lot. But with E:A Squat players, there's now more squat buyers...

There's a Goliath on Ebay at the moment for $7 and no bids ending in a day or two....

With all the 6mm companies around at the moment, I dare say it won't be long until someone sculpts something similar. After all, everybody loves big guns :D.

Zap: that badboy is possitively stunning. is it resin cast or simply undercoated in that pic?

and yearh, im sure its not that bad once i let the market take its course, but atm the ebay crowd are insane when it comes to overbidding. as for that goliath ill take a bid at it, but ill probably lose to some nut wanting to pay 25+dollars for it.

How about the Command Horizon Centaur City Defence Module for a ziggurat?

How about the Command Horizon Centaur City Defence Module for a ziggurat?

while the model is ideal size, i think i can achieve a more detailed and "40k-ish" model with various gw parts. if it comes down to using it as a base i can probably scratchbuild something thats of equal size to start off on. atm ive cannibalised the bottom halfs of the legs from an imperator titan i had that was broken, and im piecing them together to form the basis of a plague tower for the allied chaos section of my list.

as for the chaos squat list i think my player mates would frown upon it, as its somewhat far from the original idea of epic. im also going to limit my choices of fieldable models to only include those that are legal "without opponents consent" thereby making my list more or less solid, and free of balance speculations.

Given what you made, a Jagdpanther might be more appropriate.

Or even a Russian ISU-122... thanks for the idea though.
