Post subject:  Necron Lord with Veil of Darkness

I was comtemplating making a unit of Immortals lead by a Lord with the Veil as a special card.  Or maybe just the lord by himself with the ability to give one infantry detachment Infiltrate/Stealth.....thoughts?

A worthy notion that merits effort. Go for it.

The Infiltrate and Stealth is fine but not what the Veil of Darkness is really about...

The 40K Veil of Darkness allows The Necron Lord and unit (specifically - Immortals, Flayed ones, Warriors, Destroyers, Heavy Destroyers or wraiths) he is In formation with, at the start of the Necron Lords activation to be removed from the table, even if they were in close combat (even the Necron Lord) and immediately placed back anywhere on the table (Necron Players choice) using the deep strike rules.
You could make it a once per battle limit, replace 40K Deep Strike rule with the NetEpic Teleport rule and keep the rest the same.

Why not consider other options too?.. Here are some Necron Lord notions from the 40K book I have been fooling around with...

Lightning Field
Necron Units killed in Close Combat that are within 15cm of the Necron Lord cause an automatic hit on their attacker with a -0TSM.

Gaze of Flame
Necron Lord causes Terror. (Exactly as Greater Daemons)

Phase Shifter
The Necron Lord gains a 4+ fixed save against all physical attacks, including Close Combat.

Resurrection Orb
The Necron Lord allows Necron Units within 15cm to re-roll their Resurrection (self repair/Regenerate) rolls. You may not re-roll a re-rolled result.

Nightmare Shroud
Once per turn in the combat phase the Necron Lord can activate this ability forcing enemy units within 15cm to check morale or go on Fall Back orders.

Chronometron
The Necron Lord and a Necron unit within Formation to him may move ignoring terrain penalties and may not be snap fired at when moving.

Buggar, that's what you get for trying to reconstruct rules from snippets in forums I suppose.  Already have a resurrection Orb (stands within 25 "regen" on a 4+).  Think I might skip the Veil now.  Oh well.  :sus:
