Hi all, I'm going to be running a couple of introductory games into NetEpic for a few mates next week. ?I was wondering what the best forces would be to use for the introduction and what sort of size army and table? There will be five of us only two have played Epic of any sort before and out of the two who have played I'm the only one who knows the rules to any extent! Boards available - 2x2 -> 6x4 Armies available - Marines, Imperial Guard, Adeptus Mechanicus, (pure Titan Legions, pure knight household or mix) Squats. Now I'm not sure I want to introduce Titans as yet but it's one thing they are all wanting!! I'll try and avoid fliers for a while I think. ? Can anyone think of a suitable level for introduction games and what are the easier armies to get to know? ?Should I risk introducing Titans this early on? I don't want them loosing interest though. My initial thoughts are (6x4) - Space Marines with Titan (4000pts) vs Squats with super heavies (4000pts) |

I think you're on the right track, but you could drop it down to 3K. I think I'd play IG with Superheavies vs Marines with Titans. Squats can be pretty intimidating to a newer player. It is a toss up between IG command rule vs Squat high break and extreme firepower. Marine+Titan vs. AMTL with Knights might actually be best....no real tricky stuff there. |

For a game with brand new players, I would go for around 2000 points, to keep it simple. No Titans or anything else that has a hit template and no fliers/floaters. I think I would also try to avoid the IG command rule. Given your available armies, how about Marines vs. Knights + Tech Guard? Squats without Super Heavies should be okay, too. When learning the game, the Squats' high break shouldn't be a problem. |

I'd try to include at least one titan in the game if possible. It does complicate the rules a bit, but the "wow" factor should not be underestimated. Just go for something relatively simple like a Reaver. 2-3000 points sound about right. |

It's Epic... use a Titan. ![]() |

Agreed with everybody, put at least a titan, then if you or an alredy experienced player take part in the battle, don't give him squats ! They can be disgusting a bit imho. Also, you can try Orks: very messy gameplay, but funny. |

Orks would be good I think: Just hold back on the really wacky units ![]() 2 klans, a KoS, maybe a small Gargant and a few tanks (Perhaps a Weirdboy tower, just to demonstrate the unpredictable nature of the Ork army) |

Hi! In my experience, the best armies for the "newbie experience" are space marines versus eldar. Both armies give a wide view of whats available in epic and cover a good amount of rules. Definitely use a titan. A demo game is as much about excitement as it is teaching the rules. I would suggest between 3000-4000k max. One titan each side. Primarch |

Thanks for the input guys, I might go for IG and Marines in that case. Both with some level of Titan support just to keep them interested! ![]() Probably drop it down to around 3000pts as well as that is what I re started at. What would be a good basis for the armies? Marine Battle Co Land Raider Co Reaver (light weapons load) Terminators Then extra support to bring it to 3k. Imperial Guard Leman Russ Co Warhound Titan Infantry squads x 2 Baneblade Co inquisitor ogryns Then extra support to bring it to 3k. Think that should offer a bit of everything. I know one of them is a tread head and would really enjoy playing IG. |

Hi! Add some artillery, so as to show how it works. Other than that it looks good. Primarch |
