Good idea to modify VP for objectives But for a first try, you may consider just giving 10 VP for each objective. Giving too many points to a single one will transform it into a very very big blood bath that will surely complicate the game Giving 10 for all will force players to consider all the objectives for victory so they will not focus on only one of them. Maybe an alternative could be 8 objectives at 10 VP and another one, the "must have objective" at 15.
I hope modifying VP for objectives will make you discover how NE was expected to be played 
Just like DS said, I also won many battles with good CAF units (my squat bikers guilds gave me victory on my last battle VS IG )
