With regards to min-maxing, the only item that I'd disagree with Zap's comment on is the Hydra platform.  Y

ou really are paying far more than they are worth if you buy them at mobile prices.   Having a section of AA cover is nice but the option of mobile AA umbrella's is far better in my opinion.

I like NetEpic's idea but would prefer to have them slightly cheaper still!

As an aside anyone thought up rules for sabre platforms as yet?

Or sacrifice movement for a small armour save adjustment to represent the fact that it is dug in. Mix that with Zaps idea and it is something worth considering.

Also add in a rule that says it is automatically destroyed if it fails a morale check for any reason. To represent the crew deserting the guns and running for the hills.

I like both ideas.

I like it too...

Would +1 in save be okay?

Remember that if you want, you can buy Artillery Emplacement.

Static Artillery

Any artillery unit with a movement of 0 is considered to be static. ?Light artillery with a movement of 0 may be towed following the normal rules (see special ability: Transport), although in this case the Artillery does not sacrifice any movement. ?

Any effect that would force a static unit to move (e.g Eldritch Storm) will destroy the unit instead. ?If at any time a static artillery unit fails a morale check the crew abandon the artillery piece. ?It is effectively destroyed and so is removed from the game.

Hi!

So basically no price reduction but a disadvantage?

Sounds good to me.

Make it so! ?:)

Primarch

The cost saving is already factored in. ?Compare an Earthsahaker detachment with a Basilisk. ?

This should not be something you can choose to do, this should just be a rule to cover those units that already have 0 movement.

I think the Hydras are very good for their points already (they work nicely in concert with Shadowswords to drop shielded titans!), but they are a vehicle class unit so the optional rule would not apply.

I figure the Sabres are a perfect proxy for the PDF Zulu AA gun. ? I guess you could use them as Scorpions in the IG list too.
