Noob questions:

When a unit shoots, can it split fire at different enemy detachments as long as you have LOS, the wording in Netepic seem to say so but I wanted to check?

The shooter then assigns attack dice to every individual unit it wants to i.e. if you were shooting 12 dice at 6 stands you could put 12 shots on one stand or 2 on each?

Presumably if you were to assign 12 shots to one stand and it failed 10 saves, the first fail would kill it, and the remaining 9 be wasted?

And the same goes for snap firing, you assign attack dice before the enemy move?

Exactly right Fredster. The one thing I'd add to that is that occassionally I split fire unevenly, but it's usually if I want to direct a few more shots at a superheavy tank or a Titan.

The one other thing to point out is that you can't fire at HQ units unless they are the closest unit to you (or you have a unit that can target HQs such as Eldar Scouts).
