Yup, that was also suggested in the Tyranid thread....any wounds that are not regenerated in the end phase become permanent. ?I think it too had general agreement. ?I think we need to check out who is doing the Tyranid Gold book and get it out soon! ?Primarch? ?I'm sure we could get OzTenaka on it :)

hey zap,
do you know if you can arm the tyranid titans with all weapons at any slot? becaue he could take 3 weapons (head, left arm, right arm) but only has to weapon locations. could you place any weapon on the head too? for example: could you arm him with 3x bio cannon?

Yup, the Heirophant can be given any 3 weapons.  It is a bit tricky physically because GW modelled it so the Ripper Tenticles are there by default, but it is a reasonably simple job to replace them with a different weapon.  I have a Heirophant with 3 Bile Cannon, and I have a Heirodule with Ripper Tenticles and a Claw :)

Well, i tested today my tyranid army, and i don't think they're too powerful: against imperial guard, 1 heavy company, 3 shadowswords & a "bio titan hunter" reaver (2 volcano & a fire control tower) destroyed one hierodule and hurted the hierophant.
I believe they would be very powerful against orks, but against imperium they're not undestructible.

ok, you are right, 3 shadowswords and one heavy armed reaver titan are able to destroy a hierodule. but have in mind that i pay 1225 points for them!!! and never the less, i think you had luck. last battle we tried the same with two titans and 5 volcano cannons. the result 5 wounds.

No, I beg to disagree! Sorry, but don't count me over that "consensus" thing. :)

Darkangel, I invite you to read this thread I wrote especially for you.

I posted this in a diffrent threed but it gose here as well

having been playing with bio titans since 1998/9 there are is one thing I would like to contrubiute to this rule descution in my house rules the penatrating +x weapons not only add that roll to ther damage rolls but cause that meny extra woulds to mulit wound creatures this (eg. a volcano cannon would cause 4 woulds) restores the roll of large guns to large creature killing and seames they are not that meny weapons with this anti titan roll and not that meny multi would crteatures it dose not over power them

i think, that the new penetraiting rule vs. bio titans, which is shown in the new tyranid army book is ok and fair!

but i think that a muliple wound model like the harridan should get as many wounds as the penetraiting x value shows. so volcano penetraiting +3 -> harridan gets 3 wounds!

so if multiple wound model has a table, the penetraiting value will be added to the table-roll and if a multiple wound model has no table it will get as many wounds as the penetraiting value shows!

the idar with my system was to create a rule witch restored the ability of pentrating weapons to kill big trynid things but at the same time was keeped simple to all the over rules remain the same but all you do is add exctra wounds for the x factor and for simplicitys sake it aplikes to all mulity woond caratures (and as a note it is +x wounds so +3 meens +3 wounds 4 in total)

Hi mm1145,

We tossed that version around but were a bit concerned that a Shadowsword could automatically drop a Dominatrix with 1 hit. ?It would actually be a far harsher change on the Tyranids than I think is strictly necessary....I think most people agree that apart from the Titans the list is relatively well balanced.

yer it can but a Shadowsword can drop most over superheaveys in one hit is that not what they where desined for why should that be diffrent for trynids

Hi!

Point taken. However, sometimes fluff coherency and game balance don't see eye to eye and, as a game balance comes first. Besides the bio-titans (the most recurring complaint I have heard for years), I think the tyranid list is good to go.
