Rapier Laser Destroyer...

But thudd gun are artillery, they add their 2 BP to reach 6BP and 4+ to hit and the barrage template to hit several units in one shot...

4 dreadnoughs deredeo cost 100 but you only have 4 attack dices, not 8 unless I badly read the Adeptus Astartes Codex ;)

50 points for thudd guns may add more problems than solving some...Because if you change the TG cost, it means modifying the TG squat unit cost (150 for 5 TG), the light artillery squat company, and what about the mole mortar ? If you change the TG, you could also change the MM cost to 75... But if you modify the mole mortar cost, you'll need to change the whirlwind cost! And all units in other races where artillery profiles are close to TG should be reviewed too... :O

yes, you are right, my fault but...

not only the unit statistics reflect te costs. i.e. squat land raider 300 points ork land raider 200 points. same vehicle. i know, now you argum that the moral of the squats is better...but so you can not compare the units between the different armys at all, because of this fact! and by the way...why should i take the deredeo anymore? because of the +2 caf..laughing...why to get in close combat with a dreadnought who has a weapon range of 75 cm. i would always take the furibundus!! why doesn?t the deredeo not has the same missle launcher ike the dvastators with 2 attack dice? then i have to make a great dicission taking a deredeo or furibundus...more attack dice or higher tsm...

can you tell me, why 3 tempest cost 500 points and 3 shadowswords cost 650 points? compare the unit statistics!!!!!

or why 3 shadow raider cost 450 points? 200 points cheaper then the shadowswords!!!!! i can not believe it! perhaps you say, that they are only support, perhaps you say that thisare units from a chapter ary, but compare the units statistics..it is unfair at all!

I'm sorry if my first reply sounds "rude" it was not my idea to "schock?" you.

I don't know if it's unfair or not...but you can easily shoot and destroy shadowraiders as the save is hard to success (5+) if you go thru the shadow field. You can destroy it with any standard infantry or in CC with a land speeder... not a Shadowsword.

Dreadnough costs the same but have different profiles and +2 to CAF may seems poor but is still a good advantage and will often do the difference between destruction or success. Deredeo or Furibundus are not made to do the same missions. They are not ultimate as the terminators but do not cost the same ;) When your artillery is charged by a ThunderHawk full of tactical SM, do you prefer protecting it with a sentinel unit or a guardsmen detachment ? I prefer sentinels...+2 to CAF and you can engage the SM and surely prevent your artillery from being totally wiped out...and your sentinels will surely not be all destroyed.

All is balance, this does not mean that all is balanced but players are working on it in Errata threads ;)

why can`t a land speeder squad not beat a shadowsword in cc? they get mutiple dices! do you think that 150 points for sentinel are ok? in sm2 the costs were 100. they have no tsm, bad armor short weapon range..
