I was flipping through my David White art book with my boy this morning and realizing how much I still love giant mechs...but Battletech, my first love, is just too clunky a system, and I dont like what DP9 did to Heavy Gear.

Since Strike Legion supports walkers, has anyone used it to play a Battletech-esque game? I am wondering how streamlined the rules are and how many units can it support before it gets unwieldy? Im bringing the rules with me to work today to give this more serious reading, but maybe you have experience doing this?

I need to read through my copy, but this is something that I will be paying an interest in too. I wonder how well it would handle Reapers CAV line......

There is an army list representing some familiar mecha available on the company website's downloads page. One could always find out for themselves how they play. ;)

Look for the "'25 series assault mecha" pdf here; it contains early versions of some of the rules from the Skunk Works expansion book for players that don't yet have that product (and if you do, the rules in that book take precedence over the ones found in the army list document), along with some optional status markers for use with those units.

I've been reading SW and its Mech rules are minimal (which is good). Now that I've discovered the construction rules are replicated in SW, I'm going back to my spreadsheet and revising my data entries and formulas. I continue to be amazed at the wealth of options in the game.
