Hi!

I swear, I must have the worst track record with games ever...

1. Epic - dead
2. Warxone - dead
3. AT-43 - dead
4. Chronopia -dead
5. All Quiet on the Martian Front -dead

Its like the kiss of death for a game if I happen to like it. :(

I can only hope someone picks up on the IP.

There was some local interest too. it was obvious to me that the FLGS had re-stocked with new stuff since I had been there last. They almost NEVER do that.

The only other game I bought stuff for last year was Robotech RPG Tactics and that is essentially dead too. I don;t exactly have a sterling track record either. :)

Don't bring up Robotech to me....though I do dearly want some death meted out for that thing.

All Quiet wasn't played at all around here. Only my brother in law and me played it as far as I know, and he lives a hundred miles away so we've gotten in two games--two games--since we got into it.

So, maybe it should die off. It's not like it can't be played if it has died, we just won't get anything knew. Not so much of a problem, proxies and fan rules tend to work.

Hi!

True, games being "dead" are not much of a hindrance (at least not to me).

I just wish some companies had more resilience or business sense to be something more than a "flash in the pan".

That is something we can both agree with.

Hi!

I think this is why I am increasingly looking into 3d printing and design. Given the unreliability of most niche game companies, I am increasingly finding that I must rely on what I can control as far as miniature hobbies are concerned.

The technical side of these printers are right on the cusp of what 6mm resolution demands in an affordable package.

It's kind of ironic that this particular hobby may wind up back as a DIY endeavor.

I guess if you live long enough things always come back full circle. ;)

Full circle would be fun. For now outrageously expensive with our quality standards, but who nows? Maybe we could invent a gizmo to print'em painted too?

Hi!

That may not be too far fetched, nor too far into the future. The main question is affordability.

For that me may have to wait awhile for the prices to come down.

I have no concern about it being dead, as long as I have the models I want to play a decent sized game.

However, I second your thoughts that it would be great to see a start-up company survive for more than 18 months.

Well as far as I'm concerned ... as long as you have enough models to play the game. If they close ... it shouldn't really affect anything. And as I say about 6mm SF ... there are a lot of options out there for models. I'd think the same would go for 15mm ... Probably more.

I have always believed that rules are easy to come by, even make on your own. Miniatures are the hard part. If you can make your own, then you're set for life.

Hi!

Given I have a penchant for making my own rules, I wholeheartedly agree. If I could make my own minis that would indeed set me up for eternity. ;)

Does anyone happen to have the PDF's for All Quiet? I would like the Drones PDF and the Steam Tank PDF if possible, but any of them would help.

I also need the FAQ with the Black Dust/Green Gas and Rough Rider rules. I didn't save the downloads before they died.
