I've started basing some IG support weapons for Warhead .

As there are 12 platoons to the battalion , i decided on one support group per platoon (ie  3 actual mortars).

This gives me 18 mortars and 18 heavy bolters for the battalion.Represented on the field by 2 stands of mortars and 2 stands of HB.

I would like to check this with the TO+E that Mojarn kindly posted but it seems to have been lost when Epicomm was restarted.
:(

Can anyone help ?

Was that the one from Imperial Armour 1? I can repost it, if needed. I have also purchased Imperial Armour 3, which contains TO&E for 17th Tallarn Infantry, 12th TAllarn Armor, 23rd Elysian Drop Troop and 114th Cadian Mechanised. In addition, it contains TO&E for a Tau contingent. I'll post these when I have some extra time.  :8):

i recently got a look at the Taros Campaign book (FW).

The 12th Tallarn Armoured Regt. has the following in the TO+E.

2 Shadowsword

9 Baneblade.

129 Rus.

30 Demolisher.

48 Basilisk .

20 Hydra.

and 90 Sentinels.

This is  a lot bigger than the TO+E for an Armoured Regt. in AI 1 (kindly posted by Mojarn).

The Tallarn Regt comprises of ;

1 heavy tank brigade =2 Shadowswords and 3 x 3 Baneblades.

3 tank brigades each with 4 companys each of 10 Rus .

1 mech infantry brigade with 3 companys each of 4 platoons.
Each platoon has 7 Chimera , 1 HQ , 5 for the squads and 1 for the heavy weapons (6 man team).

1 artillery brigade of 4 companys each of 12 Basilisk.

1 recon brigade . i didn't take any notes of this , but i think they were in 3 companies of 16 Sentinels.

1 Regt HQ  , again no notes.

Any comments?  ....queries?

Interesting ... G/W by passes Bns and goes from Company to Bde ?   Well that's one way to do it ... And a Recon Bde, may include Rough Riders as well as Sentinels ...  A Rgt HQ would be in effect a few vehicles (may include Tanks, in SM 1, IG Rgt HQ = a CMD Baneblade) and command stands ...

Aye L3 , i noticed the brigade thing to.

Each of the formations termed "brigades" are what would normally be called battalions.

I think there was both Salamander and Sentinel platoons serving as recce for the RHQ , and also some mech inf.
Though i don't recall there being a SHT in the RHQ.

Also i had a look at the Infantry regt TO+E , the strength being around 10,000 .Which does not square with the fluff i have read in other places.
IG Inf. Regts  (i read ) are 3,000 strong  because an Imperial Transporter is built to carry 3,000.

Yes... Bde = Bn...

Don't know why they choose that method... However the Slammers have no Bn Cdrs/staff because of vastly improved commo. The Co. Cdrs report directly to the Bde Cdr (Col. Alois Hammer) or the Bde S-3 (Ops).

The SM1 TO&Es are 2 Cos per Bn and 3 Bns to a Rgt. Bn Cdrs are in L/Russ Cmd Tanks and Rgt'l Cdrs in Baneblades. With the option of 2 Bn Cmd stands in a Chimera to augment the Bn Cmd Tank. This IMO, represents the Tactical Operation Center (TOC) and Jump TOC or TAC CP. When a Bn HQ moves, the TAC CP moves out and controls the battle while the TOC, a much larger formation displaces and sets up a more elaborate HQ/TOC...

And a Bde = 2000-4000,
Rgt = 1100-3200,
Bn = 600-1000...

But ?generally...
10,000 is Div. size (3-4 Rgts/Bdes). :;):

If I understand correctly a modern Bridage in the US army consist of several (6) Battalions.  It is lead by a one star general.  The Battalsions are a mix of armor, infantry, Artillery, and has a recom compnay attached to it.

L4,

Is this correct.

Bdes will be called UAs (Units of Actions). They will resemble the old Combined Arms RCTs of 2-4 Bns but more attached Bns/units are possible.  Send me your e-mail (I'm at Rok31@webtv.net) and I'll send you more info from my old Recon Tm buddy sent me a few months ago!

Hi!

Follow this link for how the US army organizes itself. Gives you a good idea of unit strength.
