http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/40kmanta.htm Well that is rather large isn't it. Apparently the size of the price is of a similar stature. ?895 apparently. Absolutely massive, carries 4 Tau tanks and loads of infantry by the looks of it. |

Note that the 895 price includes all the battlesuits & tanks, gundrones etc shown in the pictures... you're not buying a manta, you're buying a Hunter Cadre! |

It's an amazing model, but really isn't it a bit pointless? How are you supposed to use that in a game of 40k? Where can you put it noan average 6x4 table without it going in to your opponents army, let alone their deployment zone?!? If 40k players want to have big things like this, titans, super-heavies etc, then they should just take up playing Epic and do things properly! ![]() ![]() |

Oh it's a super-heavy flyer... under normal game rules it doesn't even start on the board! The best use I can see for the beast however is as a playfield to play a game of Kill-Team (40k skirmish) in & around. |

While I cant see that there is much of a market for this, and really it is ridiculous... I want one. ![]() I mentioned this fact to my wife... I think that the bruises will go in a few days. On the plus side, whatever I spend on Epic and BFG stuff now, I will always have 'at least I didnt get the Manta'. It is expensive, but the two Hammerheads, two Devilfish and Six (?) Drones come with it too... so that means that the Manta is really a bargain at about 680 pounds. ![]() |

I put it in the same category as the Imperial Fortress that FW makes. The picture pages didn't have the product description but I would be surprised if it didn't have the same note as the fortress about it being cast only upon the order being placed. |

That's exactly right Neal, it does have that note. |

I agree with the fact you are buying an army with the manta Its gonna need one heck of a flying base |

I'm not a fan of 40K ... (I have a Epic F/W Manta ...it's cool ... but a 40K scale Manta is just plain goofY !!!! |
