When I first got into the whole 40k thing there were many different marine chapters. It was not too long before some became the "main" chapters. You know them; Dark Angels, Blood Angels, Ultra Marines etc. What I want to know, what Chapter would you have liked to see go "major" that did not? dafrca |

Definately the Mentor Legion. Green and white colour scheme, owl as Chapter Badge, store of forbidden and experimental weapons and technology! Very cool. |

I was always intrigued by the Blood Drinkers/Flesh Tearers/Flesh Eaters and their Vampiric nature. It was always dissappointing that they were left without detail until recently. BTW if you havent seen the homegrown extention and detail of the Flesh Eater Chapter (which apart from being mentioned in RT has been completely ignored by GW), you MUST check out this : http://flesheaters.net/ Yes its only for 40k scale, but its simply AMAZING ![]() |

Just to answer my own question, I have always liked the Raptors colors and the name sounds great. Wish they had gone more in depth with them. dafrca |

I've only seen a couple of models painted up as them in old WDs, but I think that the Red Scorpians chapter looked rather cool, and I'd imagine a whole army painted up in their scheme would look awsome! |

The chapter I liked the look of were called sons of Medusa I think? They were green with a white head. I liked them, purely on colour scheme. |

I thought they looked cool too: ?From Capt Stern's Index Astartes Page... The Sons of Medusa are a Successor Chapter of unknown origins. The Chapters original badge in 1st edition was a snake-haired head, which was updated at least once in 2nd edition. Now in 3rd edition, their armors color has been lightened, and the helmet color has been changed to white. Additionally, their badge has been changed to a white haloed skull. ![]() ![]() During the Badab War, the Sons of Medusa were brought in to relieve other Chapters recalled to their normal service duties. In 912 M41 the Sons of Medusa were granted salvage rights to spacecraft and "a portion of the booty" for their part in the war. |

Which colour scheme did you like dafrca? I assume it was the one showing soem imagination ? ? ![]() Again from Capt Stern: The Raptor Legion (or just 'Raptors') originally wore blue and yellow armor. They appeared back in the early days of 40K, in WD approximately late #110's to early #120's. There was very little history written about them. Although I seem to recall their involvement in the Fourth Quadrant Rebellion, and the Badab War. With their becoming a Successor of the Raven Guard in 2nd edition, they are now a Codex Chapter with a new color scheme. ![]() ![]() |

I just remembered, I also wanted more information to know more about the three successor chapters to the Dark Angels. I believe that there was info in the second edition 40K codex, but I missed that. |

Both ![]() The whole change and mystery behind them has attracted me. Who are they? Why did they change armour colors so much? What is their history? etc. dafrca |

As a long time Dark Angel player, I also find these guys, collectively known as "The Unforgiven", cool and plan (one day!) to have a tactical detachment of each painted up to use with my main DA Force. ?Anyhow (again from Capt Stern): "The Angels of Absolution are a Successor Chapter of the Dark Angels Legion, and thus have a similar organization. In 698 M41 the Chapter was part of a combined Space Marine force led by Marneus Calgar, consisting of the Lamenters, Marine's Errant, Silver Skulls, and theUltramarines. During this seven year crusade the force inflicted a series of major defeats on the Ork empire of Charadon "delaying the invasion by Waaagh Argluk by some thirty years." ![]() "The Angels of Redemption are a Successor Chapter of the Dark Angels Legion, and thus have a similar organization." ![]() The Angels of Vengeance are a Successor Chapter of the Dark Angels Legion, and thus have a similar organization. ![]() |
