One thing that puzzled me when I got the Ork codex, was the fact that boyz are S3 and T4.  Nobz are S4 and T4, and Warbosses are S5 T4.  The warboss has gained 2 Strength, but no Toughness.  This seems a bit odd.  Now dont get me wrong, I like S5, but I feel T5 would have been very fluffy.  The only reason I can see is that it was a bit unbalanced.

Spacemarines with powerfists wouldn't be able to instakill them for instance, which would make power fist wielding warbosses even more destructve.  That would be nice.

Well... obviously... I knew that...    Oh yes. Makes me wonder why I added the others in the first place!

What was the topic again...

I guess that the Orks dont increase in toughness for the same reason that Dark Elves dont in WHFB, if you started with T4 and increased as normal, they would be too powerful. This would lead to a points increase, which would lead to Ork armies with fewer, more powerful troops. Not very Orky.

I can imagine that an even tougher Ork would be a nightmare to take down. I think increasing the wounds would be more fluffy then increasing the toughness but then wounds become meaningless when you are insta-killed!

ohh, funny smily :oo

I guess T5 is extremely high. Only Ghazkul Thraka has that as a toughness, and thats only due to his metal head.

I cant think of many at toughness 5 (not inculding bike upgrades etc.)

The only troops coming to mind are wraithguard (who aren't living flesh) and Necron Lords (ditto).

Oh, hang on, aren't Obliterators T5?  I think so, and Daemon Princes, but thats expected I suppose.
