Why is BFG read only, and why was it moved? I really think without it's own full category that new/future players will miss this one even while doing a search.

When TacComs moved over to the current CMS system, CS made the decision to refocus the site on Army-scale (i.e. 10mm or smaller scale) games. My understanding is that much of the BFG community moved from Port Maw to the SG forums, and thus it made little sense in light of the refocussing to run parallel BFG communities on sister sites. However the BFG content that was already in place was kept, at least temporarily, for reference.

I understand that this may disappoint a couple of people. However, I do think that concentrating BFG discussion into a single place makes more sense. Since this move, discussion around BFG on the SG boards has grown considerably and it is now - as far as I am aware - the most popular and active BFG discussion forum online.

Additionally, I moved the BFG and 40K boards to become sub-boards as their inclusion in the SciFi section was becoming confusing, as all posts in the SciFi section should be focussed on army scale games systems - as the focus of this site.

I understand your reasons for doing so. It just means that I'm less likely to head over to SG Forums as that is yet another forum to keep up with.

However if the main goal of this site is to focus on Army-scale (i.e. 10mm or smaller scale) games, then the other sub forums could be tidied up- i.e. Fantasy/Ancient/Modern/VSF/other scale wargames. We should have one section for these other scales, with each of the above as sub-forums.

Would make front page less cluttered and easier to navigate for new players.
