Alas, it's not free, it is an old game but can be bought on Steam (£8.99). It's a turn based 4x galactic conquest game. Yak52 and Physicsman will be joining us. You can use any shipset from there list including Star Trek, Star Wars or Babylon 5 ones which you then equip with a variety of different configurations. It is remarkably deep, but you can micromanage as much as you like or do what I do and have your ministers deal with 90% of the 'boring bits'. I normally have my ministers handle all planetary construction, patrol ships and anything that I can't be bothered to deal with whilst I control the politics, research, intelligence and fleet movement. Despite being an ancient indy game, it is in full 3D and when using the fan made shipsets the combat is pretty s£xy. When we get our EW ships done (waiting on suitable concept artwork from myself) then I will definately be porting them into the game. |
