An associate is moving and was pawning off a bunch of his gaming stuff because he never plays and didn't want to move it.  He had a WFB Lizardman army and no one else wanted it, so he was giving it to me.  Muchos gracias!

Upon arrival, he starts going through various other bits and pieces of armies that no one wanted.  I was going through a litany of "No thanks... I appreciate it, but I don't have a use for it..." and so on.  But then he pulls out a shoebox with an old resin 40K Haruspex and a 40K Malefactor and asks me if I have any use for them.  :oo:

Long story short, I couldn't pass them up.  I have these cool OOP models but I have no 40K nids.  But now I REALLY have an urge to build a Nid army and I have the excuse that a lot of the bitz would be useful for customizing my Epic nids.  I'm resisting the insanity for now, but the temptation to have another set of "armies in 2 scales" is wearing on me.

You know the emoticons really do make reading this post an enhanced experience.  :)

I could TOTALLY see that entire transaction taking place in my head - the eyes shifting off to the side as all sorts of Tyranid visions flutter across your synapses.

Go for it.  It's not like you could get any more obsessed with the game at this point.

Lol I had something like this at the last club bitz night and people busted out all their old epic stuff, I managed to get a phantom titan for a single dire avenger sprue :p  its a good feeling

Nid battleforce got me alot of goodies, DRM bugs for infantry and some Legion of Everblight hordes got me my big 'uns so I say go for it!

Although, you know where this is going to lead, don't you?

Fear free stuff and bargains, they always make your credit card bleed in the end ..... always.

I say make the Nids and use mad Rare Earth magnet technology so you can pull your 40k miniatures apart and then stick them back together as BFG ships, that way you end up with the army in three scales without paying more.  I am sure warp rift has some crazy guide on how to do such mad conversions in the latest edition (or recently anyway).

Who can resist nids.  Apart from eating all the squats whats not lovable about them.

Looking at what Forge World does one really could fall for the temptation to get oneself a "heritage aunt" and pray for her demise... Did I tell you that I saw a tail behind Priestly when he asked me for my soul?
