Hi!
Yes, I read that one. Unfortunately the last one in that series by Ian "chaos child" is even worse. Alhtough it goes more into those places in the webway that go back in time. Its about the only utility I find in reading it.
No wonder I thought "AI" stunk, Ian wrote the screenplay (or something like that) and it shows, too random for my tastes.

The company called Pendraken makes them in their 10mm sci-fi line.
They are supposed to be the same aliens from the "predator" movie.
