Seriously you are in a universe where heavy combat oprations are taking place daily, even the most protected take (sometimes) heavy casualties, limiting the intake to males is not logical but also suicidal, just because of oestrogen this does not mean that the DNA and RNA of the human being cannot take the modifications (just look at a Claddius Assassin...they're female) needed to create a marine. Look just because the image is a "male only club" seems an exception rather than the rule, the Imagery and ethic is androgynous and asexual, you try telling a potent warrior they cannot be somthing because of some diferent wiring, and see what happens... Now I have worked hard to show female friends that the image of the games are more a mental excercise than a political statement, without bigotry and sexisim and I feel that (aside from being a minority) that the image does not [I]fit[I] with the concept of all out war. and ?defining imagery for others is not serious? I was just getting annoyed at how every story of the GW universe, dealing with invasions and Incursions details only the raised armies and standing regiments, then talks about conscription during a crisis (Ie GW changing the fluff every release of a game...)and yet a body is a body is a body...comes through instantly, I take competetive games seriously and Fluff with about a ton of salt... I've yet to see a GW Fangirl - the concept is scary! NO they normally go through mail order when they do, or (attempt) to look fashionable when in the shop.... ?going "Im only here for my brother / boyfriend / person i hang round with" whilst buying models and paint..... Problem is, for some reason the marine genetic engineering is keyed to _male_ hormones. And since nobody knows about how the process actually works due to degradation of knowledge there are no female marines. Note that this _only_ concerns marines. IG recruits females as does every other imperial organisation from Inquisition to Adeptus Terra. BTW, if we are discussing about equality, why don't I see any outcry about the _all female_  clubs there are in the 40k universe, which even outnumber the all male ones (the marines) twice over. Namley Howling Banshees and the Sisters of Battle...
