Just found this over at Dakka, It's from the new WD280. It's basically the forces and where the fighting will be:

It's really three campiagns. Happening at the same time, but in diffrent theatres and involving diffrent main actors.

Cadian Sector-Abbadon's 13th Crusade, You know the drill, main combatants IG, SM, vs. Lost and the Damned, Black Legion and Death Guard. Presumably the other legions as well, but these are the only ones that get a specific mention. GO NURGLE!

Webway- Abbadon has come out of the Eye with the Blackstone Fortresses, Ulthwe, as well as contributing to the main campaign on the good guys side, are staging actions to caputre the Blackstones, and have entered the Dark Eldar controlled areas of the webway to do it. The Dark Eldar are not pleased. Also the Necrons have noticed the reappearance of the talismans of Vaul and move the destroy the last two remaing things that can truly kill a C'Tan.

Eastern Fringe- The Tau defend their own territory and attempt to expand.

the good/bad split of the forces goes thus

Forces of Order: SM, IG, SoB, Ordo Malleus, Kroot(?), Ulthwe, Eldar, Cadian Defence Force, and SW 13th company.

Forces of Disorder: CSM, Dark Eldar, Orks, Tyranids, Lost and the Damned, Necrons.

Tau seem to be neutral in this split, presumably since the can be both.

So it looks like the Blood Angles and Ultramarines won't revolt. Unless they will tell us this when the Codex is released?

Cheers

Chris

PS, Glory to the Emperor }:)

I'm still undecided who to side with. Its between Ulthwe and Orks, good or bad.

If I go with Orks, my missus wont moan, as I have the models already.  If I go Eldar she'll moan nonstop, as I already have about 10000pts of Eldar, but they are in Iyanden and Biel Tan livery.  Which would mean me buying even more of them.

???

If you go with Ulthwe... then be prepared to get rather bored with painting many, many Guardians..... hehe :;):

This will be the same Tom, wights and 'Goldilocks' that were (thankfully) cut from the first film and never made an appearance? ?:L

Aswell as my Eldar armies, I have Tyranids and Orks (aswell as many other races, but not whole armies).

I have to admit, that painting guardians was far more tedious than my Ork boyz or gaunts.  I dont know why.  I just didn't enjoy doing those one bit.

Still, with Ulthwe, at least its easy to do the base colour.

Indeed they are.. though I might see why you don't like Tom and Goldberry, whats wrong with the Wights... I thought they were kinda spooky and cool... ??? ?

To Shadow Hunter, I reackon that it is more enjoyable to paint Orks + Nids because the Orks are really characterful and different- not all in exactly the same body armour a la Guardians, and the Nids are just plain cool and savage looking! :;):
hehe :)

The wights were cool, but I was so pleased that I was spared Tom in the film, although I didnt find out how Bilbo got his sword (did I miss that, or was it given with the mail shirt).

I dont think that I could have sat through a 3 hour film with a character like Ned Flanders on amphetamines!

Nice to see the Cadians painted. I will have to retract my original statement from months ago saying they looked crap!

Well, I guess the Eye of Terror campaign will be using Epic 40k as it's EPIC scale gaming system (I will check with Jervis when I escape from my training) so we won't need a battlestats prog, but I will certainly have the NetEPIC one up by then. So then even netepic peeps can join in the fun :)!

Bilbo DOES NOT get a sword in The Felowship of the Ring. He doesn't even have a sword ever! The only one he has he gives Frodo in that elf town thingy

Cheers

Chris
