two small children make life difficult.

Isn't that what you had them for? To help with the projects around the house?

I'm ready for apolocypse, mainly with infantry though.  I'm not scared to bring 80 guardians to the table!

I think my Eldar army sits at around 9k without an options on characters or formations / vehicles.  About 3k is painted fully.

My Iron warriors / Undividided army is sat around 8k I reckon all painted and ready.  Lots of chaos marines and lascannons!

My LATD army to support the IW's is sorely lacking at the moment though only about 2k, of which around 1k is painted.

Not sure I quite follow here... why... why we had them? There was a point? I'm pretty sure their whole purpose is to make life difficult for us... Unless you count projects like sticking cereal onto the walls somehow that is resistant to all known cleaning materials (that reminds me... must borrow that chisel)...

6mm SF and only 6mm SF ... As has been said before ... If you are going to play such a big game ... Play Epic !  DoH !  The high price of a 40K scale Baneblade, not to Mention where'd you store a Plt of them !?  My take on it is, I don't think it will do well ...  The cost of living is high ... whose going to spend $1000 to play it !?   Of course F/W is also know for high priced 40K scale pieces ... But how many guys can afford $1100 for a terrain piece ? ???  Oh well, just another G/W "Boondoggle" !

Ah, but I've already got all the stuff I'm building up L4 - the only thing I might buy is the Apo book itself.
ANd as you well know  :;): I'm spending more on Epic at the moment :) :)

Pics please, anybody who has something to show us. As soon as I've got one new Ork done I'll post him.

WHo's on which side of the pond? Ah, what the heck, I'm in a pnd - well, a puddle - of my own out here in the Med.... :(

Awww, good old memories from the times I painted those nice old orks too! :D

I really like to try apo sometimes ( I have around 9k eldars (not close to painted though) and 4k dark angels, 6k Dark eldar) it is nice to field those sometimes in their full glory. :D

I'll give your karandras a friend, fuegan. :D

At last, 'ere we go and all that.

Remember him? One of the old, old Goffs produced in their millions for the 40K boxed set 3rd ed (I think)?
Not too shabby for such an old lad, only trouble is he's too small for a 'modern' Goff. So, logic is called to the rescue:

1 - He's a Blood Axe.
2 - My BA warboss has preferred small-ish Orks because (1) the shorter they are, the less of a target they make and (2) the smaller they are, the less likely they are to overthrow him!
3 - He's given them red jackets, for a list of reasons given below, and Goff-type helmets - to strike terror in their foes, see, it's persykology.

Why does he have a red shirt? Well - take your pic:

1 - The warboss admired the Praetorian last stand at Ork's Drift, and impressed by their bravery gace his lads red shirts.
2 - The Warboss knows that the humies use red coats because blood can't be seen on them, and wonded men would make less impression on their comrades. Some day hell reliae Ork blood is green.
3 - The warboss has heard that is your ladz wear red shirts, the boss, the mek, the dok and the science officer never get killed. Boss doesn't know what a science officer is, but assumes he's some sort of Runtherd.
4 - I can't paint checks to save my life, and the red coat looked snazzy and contrasts with the sand camo trousers and boots and shoulder pads.  :p
5 - Red wunz go fasta. I should've made a poll....

I have to admit that I'm going tobe jumping on the apoc battlewagon as well.

For me the reasons are two (or possible three fold).

I like the idea of massed battle for fun wothout having to think too much (far to many tactics in epic which is why GW doesn't like it :D )

It gives me an excuse to buy even more fexes (four just doesn't cut it)

It gives me a poor excuse to buy a warhound with two daisy cutters err I mean vulcan mega bolters to go weeding any ork horde that might pop up.

If I want a game of tactics then I will play epic.  If I want to throw buckets of dice and blow things up apoc looks more fun.  and since it is using the 40K rules you can play it when drunk.  :D
