Quick question to those who may know - If I get a box of the new plastic Terminators, does it come with five helmet heads (enough for all Terminators to have their hats on)?

Thanks.

Yes, there are enough helmets. All the plastic kits come with extra parts now, for instance the normal Terminator box has all three heavy weapons, plus 5 stormbolters, and a couple of Chainfists, and the Assault box has 5 Thunder hammers/Storm shields and 5 sets of Lightning claws.
Regards,
Reaver

sheesh, everyone's so "anti-plastic." I actually played with the old plastic termies for a while there (you know, the bricks?) And besides, how many of you actually went out and bought 25 metal 'stealers?

No no. I am not exactly anti-plastic. I guess that most of it is nostalgia. I had the original Terminator boxed set, and spent far too long looking at the cover and pictures in WD. To me, at the time - and in some sense, still today - these Blood Angels represented GWs height. They were excellently painted in a subtle style, full of character, great in the background and represented a very cool game where the background moved on.

That said, I do still really like the old minis, and picked up four or five via mail order. I plan to get another couple next month to complete my squad, and then get a squad of the plastic ones - which I like more now that I have seen them properly. There is just something cool about the 'static' pose of the original Terminators, the Assault Cannon was excellent and the old Terminator Captain remains one of the best GW 40K minis of all time.

And yes, I had far too many of the metal Genestealers, and LOADS (around 100) of the plastic ones. But, I did get the original Genestealer Cult force from Mail order in WD, and I do have around five or six copies of Space Hulk.

Maybe it was my age/lack of income (I was 13). I played the hell out of the plastics that came with the box as I couldn't afford much more than that while saving for supplements/WDs. I couldn't bring myself to buy metal stealers while I had perfectly good plastics already in hand that needed painting. I did pick up a few of the older metal termies (the 7 man boxed set) but have never even held a metal stealer. That being said, the new termies are pretty cool even if you have to perch them precariously on a regular sized base...

Now, I have to admit that in general, GW minis have got better. Terminators, however, represent the exception to me. I really like the realy old school minis (including the original Grey Knights!). These guys should not be dynamic, and there is something a lot more imposing in the original models that is just not captured in later versions.

I do know exactly what you mean.  The old ones clearly couldn't dodge anything so it made the armour kind of seem tougher.

The new ones might be technically better models, but I do like the image of the old ones.  You just had to overlook how anyone was supposed to have a sword fight in the old armour :p

And the fact that Marines trained for use in Terminator armour actually had their arms where their ears should be!  :D
