The quality you would from one of these will not suffice to print infantry. I have had some success with 6mm vehicles. I will upload some pictures when I get back from work. (Am currently printing a Tau Orca, have printed droppods, necron vehicles).
But the stratification from even 0,1mm layer is quite visable and vehicles can not be printed in 1 part but need to be split up in several parts, which can create some seamlines.

Thanks for the reply and pics - stratification is still a problem for domestic scale printers.

I doubt we will see a fused deposit printer where it isn't a problem.
But since it's the most affordable printer type we will have to live with it.
The Orca cost 8,4kr (0.98$, 0.88€, 0.75£, for those with strange money) in materials. So the individual print is really cheap.

Is using a different method which would work better for 6mm, but is more expensive both for the machine and for each print.

Thanks for the pics, what resolution and printer model is it?

Have drooled over all the awesomeness of Brumbaer on several occations, but a recin printer is insanely expensive here in Denmark and the recin it self would put my fun budget in the red zone for a year in the future.

They are made with a Wanhao duplicator i3.
Printed at 0,1mm layer height.

Looks like it has the same capabilities as mine. Just 2 things to consider. It only specifies ABS filament in the description. ABS is a plastic and has a tendency to smell a little while printing. My prints were done in PLA (a plastic made from corn) Which melts a lower temperatures and you don't get that smell.
The printer uses a proprietary casett for the filament, meaning it might be more expensive than 3rd party filament.
(but a quick search showed that if you are willing to modify the system, you can print with any PLA you like :-)).
