I have been thinking (always dangerous), have any of you CAD sculptors ever thought about applying your skills to making Historical miniatures?

Im thinking maybe ancients armies or Napoleonics or something? With the quality of some of the CAD sculpted stuff in my collection from troublemaker, onslaught and steel crown, im thinking that it would be a winner with historical gamers in the smaller scales.

Just a thought!

It certainly would be nice to see some of the talented people here spread to more than just grim, murky or shiny sci-fi stuff, but against the existing miniatures in the era at the blessed 6mm scale, it might be somewhat tough to 'break in' to the historicals market, no matter their skills. I had thought Napoleonics were pretty well served, in particular.

Napoleonics are well served by Adler and Baccus, thats true. Perhaps cad models would still be popular though. Maybe even in 10mm?

Id love it if there were 6mm or 10mm dark age minis available, for playing games like Dux Bellorum or Impetus. There is a gap in the market there I think. (Arthurian Britain, so were talking Later Romans, Picts, Irish etc).

I dont know, it was just a thought.

I have a lot of Adler minis, they are perfect. Sculpted in a classical way, they feel more close to me ("more human" :) ), than a CAD one, with less mistakes/more perfect sizing, etc..

Also, problem with Naps in particular is that having a huge range is important which makes it harder to break into.
