So I've been tinkering around with 3d modelling for a while, and decided to try my hand creating what I want for my new Iron Warriors army.... ...so here's some custom 6mm dozer blade add ons !!!! I put an order in on shapeways, now I get to see if my measurements are correct haha. These took quite alot of time to do, as I'm not a sculptor by profession, but if they work out ill be very excited. Check my ToEG army blog as it's directly related. You cant see some of the ridges on the lefthand side of the models due to lighting, but they are the same as the ones seen on the right hand side of the models, pretty much a mirror. Thoughts? ![]() |

Very nice! I wonder how they'll work out, how thin are those individual blades on the front? |

Hmm, I thought Shapeways' Frosted Ultra Detail had a minimum wall thickness of 0.5mm. But yeah, keep in mind that once printed that would be very frail and tiny. Beefing up some of the details might not be such a bad idea (which reminds me, I should perhaps do the same for my stuff...) |

An add-on to convert E40k-era vindicators to modern standards? Where do I sign up? That's simply fantastic! I've got a passel of old vindicators I bought a long time ago waiting for someone to do this. |

The curved typed dozer blades are actually two different versions, as seen in my posted 3d renders. But because the spikes on the sides are so small they break off during the printing process...thus leaving rivets =) ![]() |

Which material did you use to print, FUD? |

yup, the frosted ultra detail. youll notice if you look carefully on the spikes on the front of each type, especially from the top down, that because of the way the printer works some of the spikes are just slightly rounded off on one corner, but only going one direction. But they arent all like that, might be hard to see from these pics...overall im REALLY pleased with the way these turned out. painted versions will show alot of these smaller details. not sure if/when ill put these up on shapeways for everyone else, thinking about it! any thoughts? |

these are not glued to the minis just lined up in front, so they'll be another 1mm up from the bottom of the mini. fyi |

These look great, really like the pred, do you have both turrets for that? Shapeways would be good if the price is right. |
