Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing! I feel the boarding pods still need some more work...

By the way @MoreDakka: I'm awaiting the test print of the frigate on Shapeways (slightly less detailed than how it is now) and I was wondering if you feel that anything still needs to be added/changed to the models? If the test print works and you're ok with the way the ship is, I think it'll be ready to be shipped off (if you're interested of course).

The Destroyers need a little bit of tweaking, but then they're also done. Same goes for the stations. :)

Will be most interested in the test print.

Could well be interested in these models we can talk on the subject soon.

Keep up the good work dude.

Test print just came in, I'll try to have some pics ASAP. The model (which is a slight previous version of the renders I've shared) looks great and the components fit in perfectly.

Like in my other thread, a quick heads up on the status:

Green = ready
Yellow = almost ready
Orange = very much WIP
Red = not even started yet

Frigate: single kit containing a hull and parts to make it either a carrier or gunship.
Destroyers: both a carrier and gunship (two separate models). -> not sure yet whether to keep the carrier since it can't be used as a proxy for any existing rules.
Space stations: got two variants, one with guns and another one with launch bays. -> some problems in the .stl file that need to be fixed before it's ready.
Novan Elite Fighters: not much to add here!
Boarding pods: still not totally happy with them yet, will need some tweaking.
Heavy Assault/Transportcraft: Basically a Warhawk VI variant. Got three variants (big cannons, normal cannons, missile launcher), designs will have to be tweaked and also figured out if variant weaponry is even needed
Transport ships (escort sized): will need to tweak the existing ships to match the new aesthetics.
Transport ships (super heavy): see pic in link above. It's practically a battleship sized craft. Will need serious tweaking to match the new aesthetic, but also some serious detailing. Will probably look into different container/etc components for it as well. A major obstacle is its size, this would be a rather expensive kit to produce.
Torpedoes: would like to do various types of torpedoes here.

Test print came in, apologies for the horrible quality of the photos. Keep in mind that since this print was ordered the design has been updated slightly (see previous posts).

Regarding the fighter...

I've started working on the 6mm one, and I noticed that the big guns on the wings would be a bit too big for 6mm without looking out of scale. So I present a possible different version of the space ship game scaled fighter:

The 6mm version's laser cannons (with two twin-linked laser cannons) will either be mounted on the sides of the hull or in the aircraft's nose.

But yeah, getting back to the space ship scaled version: with, or without those guns on the wings?

Torpedoes: would like to do various types of torpedoes here.
Assault Craft: The boarding pods are meant for the Novan Elites and their evil counterparts. The Assault Craft are for the regular Novan Military. It will be coffin shape, something akin to this that can carry about 40-50 soldiers. Might later on make a 6mm scale of that one as well (long term plan).

I'm going to wait with doing a bomber, but maybe I should count the heavy assault/transportcraft as a bomber and remove the transport capability from the background...

Oh yeah, and here's a pic of the slightly tweaked boarding pods:

I still need to let the boarding pods sink in a bit, but I really could use some feedback/suggestions for the design before I'll ship them off to Vanguard Miniatures. :)

Post them on the facebook BFG page mate that's the best place for feedback for these I should think.

All that needs to be done now is to add some detailing to the exhausts.

Time for another status update:

Green = ready
Yellow = almost ready
Orange = very much WIP
Red = not even started yet

Frigate: single kit containing a hull and parts to make it either a carrier or gunship. -> sent off to Vanguard Miniatures.
Novan Elite Fighters: sent off to Vanguard Miniatures.
Boarding pods: sent off to Vanguard Miniatures.
Destroyers: both a carrier and gunship (two separate models). -> not sure yet whether to keep the carrier since it can't be used as a proxy for any existing rules.

Heavy Assault/Transportcraft: Basically a Warhawk VI variant. Got three variants (big cannons, normal cannons, missile launcher), designs will have to be tweaked and also figured out if variant weaponry is even needed. I'm also tempted to scrap the transport capability and have these count as bombers...

Novan Elite Light Cruiser: Beefy and modular kit, currently at the thinking stage.
