Ooh, I like the shadowy look of those Eloi chaps...

For the desert troops, maybe not the long trenchcoats, but something shorter so that the pants can still be seen.

I do think the buzzsaw is an absolutely essential tool for any self respecting skinner.

Though I wonder if it is just a touch big for the model, even for a Skinner?!?

I also prefer pants for the desert royal marines, and maybe respirators but glad to see them !!!

Wouldn't that leave them looking pretty identical to a standard Novan Royal Marine?

But they will need transport no ?

Giant worm? :-)

I do still worry if I took away the longer robes that the Desert Marines wouldn't be as distinctive...

They're looking too much like the winter infantry already so as you say, not distinctive either way already.

Crazy idea: Perhaps they need shorts to resemble the British Army in north africa?

Or even better: Perhaps you can steal a look from history and make their jackets resemble the Ottoman Janissaries (angled cut) or FFL Spahi cloaks?
I'm rather partial to the cloaks actually now that i mention it as they will evoke the afore mentioned FFL, the sneakiness we thinking of desert raiders, and also ties us into sci fi classics like Dune with the Fremen.

Maybe I'll try more of a cloak than a robe, yes...

Yep, respirators. And blue eyes. And milky white curved knives.
The lead must flow.

Cloak version is best.
