Ben a question, is the LS carapace a separate component because if so you could have a separatly available uparmoured siege variant kit sometime, just an idea.

Should consider adding a turretted skinnerz tank to the range too.

How tall will the walker be to the top of the model, not counting shoulder mounted weapons. Somewhere around 4.75 inches - 5.25 inches tall?

-A

I'd planned on it being about 9cm-10cm tall depending on the pose.

This size will make for a really impressive model.

I like the double-layered aspect of the updated carapace, and the removal of the pointy back from the earlier modifications is good. One particular point – I like the fact the shoulder weapons now sit flat. It's both more stable for construction and looks more realistic, somehow. The additional arm plate's an inspired idea – nice one wraeththu! It'll be a great place for freehand unit/tactical ident marks.

Which weapons should come with the Leviathan Stalker?

My choice, based mainly on aesthetics (plus missiles on top are a proper mecha trope)
Arms: Single Barrel Macro Laser and Siege Howitzer
Shoulders: 2 x Rocket launchers

Any suggestions for anything else to sculpt?

Jimmyzimms' idea of quad-guns for the shoulders is a cool one.
I also like his idea of a close-in weapon like a fist, ball and chain, energy whip or chainsaw.

Would one or two alternative heads be a good way to differentiate them for people who buy multiples? Something with boxy curves and asymmetric multiple eyelenses would work with the aesthetic; and you could build a gun on one side or where the mouth.nose would go, too, in case people wanted a head with weaponry.

I agree with moredakka that it'd be nice for the head to have more space for the crew. This design looks a bit like the bridge of a battleship/spaceship, which might be a nice design cue?

On a personal note, I always loved Mongrol from the ABC warriors, and think a head that looked like this would be awesome :)

Armoured Infantry Concept. Any interest?

They look nice to me, though I agree with the calls for bigger jetpacks and ammunition feeds on their rifles. Perhaps boxy or straight magazines?

I hope you don't mind; but I fiddled around with the heads, dropping the ears down a bit and extending the cocks-comb crest: there seemed to be something a bit off about the proportions, but perhaps that's to help casting?
Image

I wonder if the heads could be built up around the 'jaw' a bit? Something like a TIE fighter pilot:

... or a mediaveal knight:

While we're talking about it, I'd like to see a kneeling pose and some different guns – like a big machine gun instead (or as well as) the rocket launcher?

Mongrol for the win!!! ;D ;D ;D

Also, what about a Simon Bisley inspired Hammerstein or Joe Pineapples head?

Yes, the upper armour section is a separate piece, so variants will be possible.

More poses for the armoured infantry, also a bigg a** machinegun like someone else mentioned would be great!

If that's what will make you happy, I guess you deserve it by now.

Yay!

As for what weapons should the kit come with, that's a tricky one especially if we get up to a dozen plus options across the arms and shoulders. Also how difficult do you want to make picking orders for yourself.

Not too impossible. :-)
Also, we're only allowed a limited number of pledge options when running a crowdfunder.

Here's a question the Ordnance Conveyor comes with a sprue of four weapons, will you be looking to use the exact same sprue with the LS?

We could re-make the sprue if desired.

Quote:
For so for example you could have a weapon spread like this:

Great idea.

I'm going to set a budget of 2 Arms Sets, and 2 Shoulders Sets, each with space for 4 weapons on it (multi-part weapons might take up more than one weapon "slot").

How about a split into short and long range sets?

Long Range Shoulder Set
- Heavy Missile (2 pieces)
- Multiple Rocket Launcher
- Siege Howitzer

Short Range Shoulder Set
- Twin Plasmic Discharger
- Twin Laser Cannon
- Twin Rotary Cannon
- Twin Flame Thrower

Long Range Arms Set
- Heavy Rotary Cannon (not yet sculpted)
- Macro Laser
- Siege Howitzer
- Triple Laser Cannon

Short Range Arms Set

- Triple Plasmic Discharger
- Close Combat Weapon (sword!) (not yet sculpted, takes up 2 slots)
- Another weapon?

Thoughts?

Quote:
Final LS thought, an option in CF3 to purchase in combat groups of say 3?

I was going to do a combo deal for 3, and for 10.

Prices, probably £30ish for the body, and £5ish per weapons pack.

So £40 each then.

Ish. They'll come with too many weapons so a second one would be cheaper?

The alternative would be to do a fixed armament configuration for ~£35 including 4x pre-set weapons, and have weapons packs available in addition to that.
Which would people prefer?

I had another little fiddle - something about the carapace is still bugging me. Not sure that i if this is an improvement but thought i'd throw it in for discussion. I'd still like to see the full length image from the rear. As was previously posted, if the carapace is separate i could see you getting plenty of mileage out of this design in the future with alternatives.

Gotta say £40+ would be top end for me. I had been imagining it would be around £30. I will probably still buy one but it would have to be spot on design-wise as tbh it would be more of a display piece anyway. I think you are 95% there but the head and carapace aren't quite up to the quality of the rest ( which is a masterpiece ) imho. As always with design the last 5% takes 95% of the time ! :D

By the way, for those of us still stuck in the old-skool / false-scale world, is there a chance of a 70% scale version?

Not sure if i see this guy being nimble enough to handle a sword, but if it make you happy go for it ! :)

As for other figs - 4 legged mecha with claws ! Its gotta happen !
