Ok, so many here will be familiar with my desire to come up with a workable Light Cruiser for the black sheep of the eldar family and here is my latest incarnation of it.

Nightmare Class 0-4 per fleet---------------------------150 pts
Type/hits-----Speed-----Turns----Shields----Armor---Turrets
Cruiser/4------40cm-------90------Shadow------5+-------0

Armaments
You must choose one of the following primary armaments for your main integrated weapons system (counts as integrated batteries on the critical hits table for DE)

Armament---Range/Speed---Firepower/Str------Arc

Batteries------30cm--------------6--------------------F
Phantom------30cm--------------2--------------------F
Torpedos------30cm-------------4---------------------F
Impaler--------30cm-------------1----------------------
Launch Bay---30/20cm-----------2--------------------

You must then choose one of these secondary weapon systems

Batteries-------30cm--------------3---------------------F
Phantom-------30cm--------------1---------------------F
Torpedos------30cm--------------2---------------------F
Impaler---------30cm--------------1----------------------

This vessel may be upgraded with a Mimic Engine for the additional cost of 30 points

Note that these light cruisers are exempt from the requirement of 3 escorts to be fielded which restricts the acquisition of Tortures.

What I am thinking is that the arrival of one of these ships could be anything from a Lone Wolf to the leading elements of a large raid.

I was initially inspired by the idea of main weapons being equal to strength X and the secondary weapons, where applicable, are equal to 50% of the main weapon strength.
Now the weapons I selected are based upon comparisons between corsairs and tortures.
1 phantom lance= 3 batteries = 2 torpedos =1 launch bay= 10 points

Looking at the torture's upgrade costs we it comes roughly to 40 pts for 4 lbs, 20 pts for 4 torps or for 2 phantom lances.    Reducing these to common point values we get the ratio as displayed above- the only thing that doesn't conform is the Impaler but I figure that since this is a unique type of weapon it has the special circumstance of taking up an entire "Hardpoint" for available weaponry on a DE vessel.

--Other Issues--
If you select a double torpedo loadout you may combine the torpedos into one salvo or fire the respective S2 and S4 salvos at different targets.

If Attacking with double Impalers and a 1 is rolled, the ship has it's Impalers reduced from 2 to 1.  It is not necissary to keep track of which Impaler belongs to which weapon hardpoint (integrated main weapon or secondary weapon point) because if you only have one Impaler remaining during the battle and you take a critical hit to one weapons system, the remaining Impaler may still dock at the other Impaler bay.
