Post subject:  Questions about Dark Eldar

Hi guys,

I've been playing Imperial Navy for a while (as per recommendations from this site this time last year, haha).

I have a desire to start a new fleet though:-).  So I was thinking about Dark Eldar.  The problem is, I'm not really sure how to use them.  So I have a few questions:

Mimic Engines:  Should I put them on every ship, or what?

Armament:  What weapons should I give my ships?  i was told a variety of everything is good, which is a good idea, but anyone have an opinion on relative proportions?

Tactics:  How do I win with these guys?  I'm clueless, lol.

Pretty much ANY ideas you can give me will be a huge help.  i've never seen a DE fleet in action, so I'm not even sure where to start.  Thanks!

Steve

Actually, I have another question.

Looking at the sprues for Dark Eldar, I have no idea which bit is which weapon.  Can anyone help me out?

Thanks!

Hi. For general Dark Eldar advice, check out here:

I am certainly no expert with the 40K Druchii, but anyway...

I would not bother with Mimic engines on every vessel. The cost rapidly mounts up and just a couple is usually enough. You can then engage early and distract the enemy while the rest of your fleet (rapidly) arrives.

I agree with a general mix of weapons, but I rarely take the Impaler module, as I find that it is just too random. I tend to stick with weapons batteries, dark lances and torpedoes in majority.
