I would say an orbital dock would be slightly bigger than a basic station.. your 6cm one sounds fine for a space staion, but the 50p one would be more of a defence platform imo- the FW and GW ones are approximatly that sort of scale iirc....

In game terms, I would guess that a Space Station is only set up to dock a single small vessel such as an Escort, for transporting troops and supplies to and from the station. A dock would need to house a number of cruisers and possible conduct repairs and even construction.
On the board, anything smaller than a cruiser could be considered a Space Station, while I would say that a Space Dock would need to be at least 2/3 the length of a cruiser and most often bigger.

Are you sure you're not thinking of Orbital platforms when talking about stations being smaller? Space Station has 2 more hits than a OD and far larger weapons array. The Orbital Dock is just for transferring cargo from starships to landing craft, the Station has full manufacturing and residential facilities according to fluff.
