Just a quick word to say that everything looks good. Well, almost everything - I changed the heavy barge and super heavy barge to count as battleships instead of cruisers (i.e. battleship 12) to better represent their slow and lumbering nature. But other than that, everything is spot on, so I'm not complaining. I hope people enjoy the articles...

I'm a little confused by the size referencs.  If I was to build ships that look like the reference picture and with the little shadow of a ship as a size guide then I think that some of these would be bigger than my Retribution battleship!
I just have warships now but want to get some cargo carriers of my own. I think the pictures above the data cards look cool so that I would try to match that look.  I have never built things this small, but maybe balsa wood can be cut down for a bow, and other ship parts to fill in the middle of a carge carrier.
I also wonder that such large ships have such small gun ranges.  Would not a big Galleon have bigger guns to protect such a big ship better?
The guy I game with has all kinds of cargo ships that he says he bought from different game systems and adapted to this one.  Can I buy some other make of ship and make them fit these new ship descriptions? :sulk:   I want to surprise my friends soon with my new additions.
I only just started reading the magazines and I really like the look and all the reading.
My friend wants his computer back so thanks guys.

- Size references: The size of the miniatures for BFG does not reflect their actual size in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. In other words, the Retribution class battleship is supposed to be much larger compared to the Dauntless class light cruiser. With that said, some of the transports are supposed to be bigger than battleships (hence 14 hit points). Just like the largest ships in the world today aren't battleships.

- Gun ranges: They're not dedicated warships. If you look at the rules for transports written by GW, most of them have pretty poor armament. Even the heavy transports.

- Choosing models to use: Whatever you want, basically. I see a lot of veteran gamers are using old models from Space Fleet, whilst some are using models from different space battle games entirely (like Babylon 5 or whatever). I personally prefer to convert ships out of GW BFG parts.
