Hi!

What size exactly? 100k? more?

You're almost there already.

100k!? Peanuts! I am not going for a points value size. But, an actual size, size. So many divisions of such and such.....

Hi!

Ah, dude, thats pretty insane. SM, like orks are pretty cheap points wise but contain a lot of minis in the old company structures, so how many companies? You got like 200 hundred already.... :p

Not sure. I think I will look to a corp. In the old way of thinking. Four divisions of three to five regiments. Depending on weather it is an armored or infantry division. I am still tinkering with my army organization.

Hi!

I tend to do that type of organization too, but I'm capping my armies at 100k each, dont want to more than that, at least until I get there and decide 150k is better.

Whoa Guys, collecting a Corps worth of troops ?! :o ? You are generally correct about size of Divisions & a Corps. ?Usually 2-4 Divisions to a Corps. And 3 ( maybe 4) Brigades or Regiments, (which are very similar organizations), to a Div.  A lot of this depends on what country and era you are talking about. ?But in the WWII & modern era 3 brigades per Div., is pretty much standard. ?Realize that a Div. (depending on type, country etc.), is about 10,000 to 20,000 troops, of which about 50-60 % are combat soldiers (realize that also is a broad generalization). The rest are cooks, clerks, truck drivers, etc., etc., ... ?I served in the 101, 2 ID and a seperate Mech Bde of the 18th ABN Corps. (all but the 2ID are in the Gulf right now, the 2ID is still in the R.O.K.) ?So all that being said you better get painting and add a room on to your dwelling to house your Corps. !!! ?And I Don't smoke, drink alcohol or caffeine, don't do drugs and I limit my association with females after years of failure in that area  ... 'nuff said ?

HA!  :D

I am still preparing the way for my SM bootlickers, armor polishers, teamsters and the like.  :p  I am looking to use a mixture of older and newer army orgs for my corp. I am still looking into different countrys and eras also. As I stated, I am still tinkering. As far as 10,000 or 20,000 men go . I have orver 10 already. So that isn't a problem.  :oo

Cool, you're welcome.

As far as marines go. I still have tons in bags. I just received some new spruces and have some more comming. That will help fill in gaps for special troops. I may or may not get rid of the rest I will keep you all posted.

HOLY CRAP, you guys have a lot of epic stuff.  What does your other halfs say?  With my BFG, Fantasy and 40K armies,  there's only so much epic I can get away with buying.  Especially as I have bills to pay (just bought our first house last year).

I must admit, though, she didn't mind when I told her I just bought 20 sprues.  So I might order some more.

Boy is this epic getting contagious.

Don't worry, she will mind soon enough. We just made our first offer on our first house yseterday so the fun will end soon enough. I will have to rely on trades. I do have a sizeable SM force going. I just need to get my IG force to that level. I have a pretty big mechanized force for IG but troops are still a problem. Only 20 or so companies. While, 20 companies sounds like alot, compaired to a SM force of about 80 or so companies, it just pails in comparison. My wife thinks I am insane. As do others on this very board. :p  But, I have a plan. Once I reach my goal I will stop and work on other things until some new stuff comes out. :)

Thats the problem for me.  As soon as I stop buying one type of thing, something else comes along.  Its a vicious cycle.

I do need to order a few more impy guard and Eldar sprues, so may do that today.  My original order of 15 Orks 3 Eldar and 3 Guard doesn't seem like it'll be enough.
