I liked the original Rogue Trader one, the new box land speeders just don't do it for me.
The new ones are looking better though, I guess.

I just got my first ship. I am already thinking of things to do with it.  I am still on the hunt for ships. It's going to take a while to put my fleet together. I also till need to find someone to play. My usual partner doesn't like spaceship games.

OK, your all a bunch of psycho's
I have been playing this game since 90/91 with the olde SM figs using the banners in the boc and the AT titans and olde ploystyrene buildings.
Twice I have abandoned collections, due to lack of interst/opponents, Now I have 5000 points (and a few more to paint) of IG about 2000 points marine and 1 titan.
I've got some orks (2 warbands P&B from 9 sprues, and about 6 chaos detachments (from 15 sprues), some squats (from 10? sprues) and all the eldar you can get from 7 sprues, plus vehicles.
I think I have FAR too much (still not stopping me collecting though....) and when i read the start of this post all i could think was "Ambulance and straight jackets for this lot!" ;-)
Seriuosly though, 500,000 points, where do you store it?, How can you HOPE to paint it (I mean I paint a LOT quicky, at a decent stabdard, but could NEVER match that!)
Sorry, rambling and raning, but I am in SHOCK!

I too, have all my original SM1/AT1 stuff and have been continuing to add to it with each release (SM2, E40K, etc.). And plan to continue this in the near future. I basically try to collect one of each type of vehicle/ model per detachment. So with all the versions of things, including Forge World models, I have a fairly large collection. Of course I have lots & lots of Rhinos, Land Raiders, and Grunts of all types !!! Plus I collect all the armies, Squats, Traitor, Tau, etc., etc., so all in all, I have "lots of stuff"  !!!

Arms race huh?
First to 1,000,000 pts of Epic?
I guess the major players will be Signius, Primarch and an outside chance of Legion-4.
You should make part of the race be that it is 1,000,000 painted pts!

Hi!
Lets answer a few questions:
1. Am I insane?
Yes, quite so. I am trying to update my inventory with recent aquisitions and as suspected I'm just over 500k, and those where just "casual" purchases. I have yet to start making my "real" purchases. Where? Thats for me to know and no one to find out!
2. Is there an arms race?
No. A race makes the assumption someone is actually going to beat me. Give up the ghost guys, you dont got a chance! 
I actually laid out a acquisition schedule, which if adhered to, will max me out over one million points around december of 2004. The clock is ticking..... 
3. How will I get it all painted?
Easy, you PAY someone else to do it.
As the stuff shows up at my door I'll ship it out to the painter. Heck that reminds me I gotta talk to Tuffskull about painting some figs....
4. Where I store it all?
I use those "plano" brand tackle boxes for fishing. The compartements are very good for epic stuff. FOr larger figures I use two large double sized rifle cases to store my 120 titans and other big models. Hmm..reminds me I need another one.....
5. Where do you buy all this stuff?
Ah, youldn't you like to know.... 
Thats one secret I keep to myself, but it involves moving around alot, extensive use of phone books and internet and having been an ex-retailer and keeping tabs on all your old impulse customers.....

I don't have a specific collecting goal other than enough to have enough to play any army list that I'd want.
I started with Imperials (SM) and expanded to have allies (Squat and IG) and more flexibility.
Much later I played Eldar and eventually expanded into Orks.
I am now building a Necron force on the side as well.
I don't know how many points I have, but it's a lot, probably enough even to challenge Primarch or Signius. However, I don't really care about who has more. I definitely have ENOUGH!
My goal now is to actually paint the majority of my collection (on the way...). I find vehicles easy to paint, but the infantry require a lot of time and patience...

I used to use Plano boxes, but now I've switched over to Dollar Store craft boxes. They're much cheaper and I can get a pile of them for one good Plano box. I have also been slowly metal-basing mine so I can do the magnetic storage thing when the time comes.

Yes, painting is the real chore. Especially since I am also having to make terrain and build a small city center to fight in/around. Since I am an insomniac, it keeps me quit busy.
