We're about to play a game with fortifications. The battles book says the defender can use as many fortifications as they have models for, with the possibility that the attacker can use them as the only balance. Do you find any need for further guidance? Is the model-based "rule" sufficient? We'll probably just declare a building or two to be more fortified, but it feels tempting to declare most everything as such. Similarly, I could see whipping up a lot of razor wire (just wrap wire around a pencil) and putting that everywhere. Does it need any more limit? thanks andy |

I've never had a problem with too much fortifications- plus I think it's cool when the defender can fall back to second and third lines. I think that it's up to the attacker to have a strategem to deal with them-whether it be with plague towers, air troops or artillery. If the defender goes too nuts and lays down huge amounts, then the defender also runs the risk (depending on the scenario) of the attacker suddenly outnumbering the defender and also being in a defensible position. Also, if the attacker is IG, remember there's an optional rule for engineers. |
