I'm new to this board and thought it would be good to introduce myself. Hint to moderator: A sticky introductions thread would help new users join the community. My name is Dave and I live in New York City. I have been playing wargames of one sort or another for about 50 years. A number of years ago I got interested in Epic 40K and bought some miniatures and started painting. Alas, work and other interests got in the way and I put the epic stuff away for a few years. When I had time to try to get back to it I found that interest in the game seemed to have died out. Now, thanks to the internet, I have found that there are at least a few people still playing. I hope that I will be able to find some players in the New York City area. As a retired senior citizen I really don't want to travel outside of the 5 boroughs of NYC. I have played some solo games to learn the rules and I have enough Imperial Guard & Space Marine figures painted to make about 1500 points of each and about another 1000 points of each unpainted. I had to do some fudging to make those forces - 3 man stands & autocanon with differently painted barrels to stand in for support weapons. I am willing to try EA but I don't have miniatures to make the standard detachments so I would have to field under-strength units at pro-rated costs.
