Hi!
For me painting is one of those "inconveniences" that the epic hobby throws in my way. I used to think, I'd mind have my stuff painted by a third party, but after I did it the first time, I never minded it afterwards.
Re-painting is a serious problem. Wear and tear through use will punish your paint job. I use matte varnish to seal all my paint jobs, but still wear and tear takes its toll. I look at my original marines and IG and hope to re-paint it, but its a staggering job.
I admire people who like to paint, if I had that drive, all my stuff would be painted.

I guess I should be glad I got them. Since they have been sold out for a while.

Hey, what ever works. You never know. After I am done throwing my legion together, I will probably get rid of some of the extras.

Did you go to the Epic 40,000 website included in the Fanatic News Letter ? Jervis talks about the new Epic Guard Heavy Weapons Team for E-A, being on a small round diorama base with a sand bag emplacement. It might be nice but I really would prefer everything on a strip !!

Signius,
When you do get rid of some spares, do tell us about them, we may want to buy some!
Cheers, Chris.

My painted percentages are dismaly low, probably currently at around 10%.
Most of what I paint I end up having to sell. I'll paint a unit, keep it for a month or so in my display cabinet, hit the "0 teef" mark and it'll be off the shelf & on sale! I always sell the latest units as they're normally the best so I can get the best price for them and they haven't been used on the table so no history has been built up with them (the history and "Character" of units is something I'm very keen on in all my wargames). Each time I do this I buy new models to replace those sold (but no more!). This means I paint a hell of a lot but my own collections stay kinda static.
To put it in perspective, my epic IG army (my epic pride and joy so to speak ) has no more painted models in it now than it did a year ago when I posted the pics on the old forum of my shelf of armour. Since then I've actually painted 12 companies worth, mainly of infantry, but not one strip of models has remained in my collections ? This hasnt been helped by my hiatus from 6mm painting since december time.
I still aim to one day have my 3 regiments of guard all painted to a good standard, but at this rate I'll have to paint 40 regiments to keep me afloat whilst I work on my own 3! ?
Oh well...... Such is life...... ? ?
Happy hoarding,
