More orks for July. Another mob of boyz with Nobz coming soon and a group of dreadnoughts. I've got a mob of Goff vehicles in process that I hope to have done by the end of the month as well. Another month of work for the Tale of an Epic Gamer is now completed. The orks now have a few more units they can call on during their next battle. Overall I'm pretty happy with what I finished this month. However, I am slightly disappointed in the Goff vehicles. My test model was done a few months ago using GW's old black ink. I ran out of that and started using GW's Nuln Oil. It is not as dark as the old black ink. In the end, they look okay, but I liked the darker color better. These have 2 coats of the wash and I guess I could have applied another coat, but I decided against it. The next time the orks hit my table, I plan to do a batch of Speed Freeks and another mob of infantry. August is complete and so are my models for this month's goal. I managed to get a good amount finished this month. 3 Termagaunt Broods - 30 stands total 3 Hormagaunts Broods - 15 stands total 1 Exocrine Brood - 3 models 1 Carnifex Brood - 3 models 2 Biovore Broods - 6 models total Using the NetEpic Gold lists this all comes out to 1,500 points. Not bad for a month's worth of painting. I would like to add some ripper swarms to the force at some point but am not sure what to use. Does anyone have any suggestions? There are four months left in the year so that means I need to finish up an army each month. Some armies might not be quite a big as others, but I will have a basic fighting force for each of the 4 armies. For September I will be working on finishing off my Eldar force. I'm going to be adding more guardians and some more grav tanks of various types. For all those that are anxiously awaiting my update... I haven't given up yet. I got tons of Eldar painted in September, but haven't had a chance to take pictures. I hope to get them taken this weekend. |

I have finished painting Eldar for the year. I spent February, June, and September painting Eldar and now have quite a nice collection of painted models ready for battle. Some of actually seen battle. I have been surprised how quickly these 6mm models paint. I have stuck with a pretty simple paint scheme and that has helped to keep things moving across my table. Having a goal each month is also a big help and motivator. This comes out to a little more than 5,600 points using the NetEpic Gold lists. These can also be used for NetEA, Future War Commander, and other games. Lately I have been using these guys with the new LaserStorm rule set. For October, I'm going back to the Tryanids. I plan to add some additional HQ options, a few more infantry units and hopefully a few more Carnifexes. Stay tuned.

More progress on my goals for the year. Tyranids hit the table in October and I've finished them off. I am happy with the way they look, but I'm still missing some units in this army. I will be back to them in the future and expand their ranks even further.
