Howdy hey. I've had a collection of Space Marines that I've never been able to decide on. I started a thread for painting them as Space Wolves last year, but never really took to it with all of the IG that I am painting. I am in the middle of painting a 30K World Eaters army and was convinced today by the owner of the LFGS to just paint up my Epic Marines in a scheme that matches my 28mm army. I am currently participating in the Independent Characters Hobby Progress Challenge in which we paint a unit a month. Rather than paint a unit there and 500pts per month here, the plan is to paint a unit there and the equivalent formation here each month. Sort of a "I shall call him-Mini Me" plan. For this month I am completing a 15 man tactical Squad for my World Eaters. When completed I will paint a Tactical formation for my World Eaters. 30K/Epic commitment for each month March: 15 Tactical Marines/ Legion Tactical Detachment Pics to come soon. |

First test models: Three Tactical stands (and their big brothers)  Not the greatest shots, but you get the idea. I did paint in the arrow tactical markings. I painted a read circle with a blue dot in the center for the World Eaters logo. Looks good enough to pull it off. I'll try to paint up the other 5 stands as the month goes on and will post a better pic when they are done. Thoughts? |

The white is simply: Mechanics Standard Grey base coat. 40/60 Administratum Grey/P3 White highlight. The key is really not to go full white; it looks too cartoonish that way. I plan on painting the command stand today and putting together the other 4 tactical stands. Not going to lie though, I'm also planning on assembling my 28mm scale Typhon siege tank today (which kinda takes priority!) |
