Well, my middle boy is old enough now to enjoy the hobby, so in discussion with him via email whilst still overseas, he tells me he want an army with lots of men and tanks. After he had a look through the Vraks books he let me know that Death Korps was for him. So this will be a thread dedicated to his army painted by his dad. I have cracked out a couple of test models based on some Gorgonzolas that made it my way.

Ok, so on with the pics:

Test B, at this stage Bman likes Test A scheme so B will become an objective on a small diarama.

Keeping with the first cam pattern, here is a formation of Macharius.

Looks good, particularly group A. The Macharius tanks are nice looking models, I may consider adding some to my own army. I found they can be added to infantry formations, which is expensive and may not be an ideal fit when it comes to fire power, but it would absorb the first titan killing hit against the formation.

BTW, if your son is a gamer as well as a modeller, you might want to consider a quick conversion of the Heavy Bolters to Mortars, since they reduce FF but add versatility to the formations.

Could just paint up both options? Maybe magnetise them to be used as desired?

Ok,

So I have made some progress and should get a few formations finished this week. I have made four objectives for Bman's Kreig. First up and complete is a broken down Gogonzola in a ruined city. The other three are a Chimera caught in an anti tank ditch, a bunker on a trench line and an abandoned artillery piece and transport. On with some pictures.

You are blessed with a middle boy, and he is blessed with a Krieg army, it seems...

Great objective. I gather the entire army will be winter based.

Cheers,
Fredmans

Cheers Fred,

We are going with a winter theme, seems I have gathered some Eastern Front mojo on this army.
