Post subject:  TOEG09 Chaos Renegades
Well in an effort to get myself to paint something Epic scale again (silly warmachine/hordes) I conned myself into this monthly shennanigans.
My goal is to paint a minimum 2000pts a month so by the end I have at least 10K points of chaos marines, LotD and Titans to play my Imperials with.
But onto the pics of the test minis!
Renegade/Chaos Marines

Dreadnought

Rhino

Giant metal crab of death (these are ALOT bigger then I was expecting!)


Fairly happy with the scheme (dead easy to do to boot which is nice :vD ) The force will be recent renegades because I'm far too lazy to convert every vehicle into a porcipine and don't have enough chaos marines to man the stands (so to speak) well hopefully more later in the week :)

Gorgeous all round. I agree that the Rhino is particularly superb, but they're all pretty impressive.

Very nice color scheme. That chipped paint rounds it of nicely. Did you use dips or washes for the yellow parts?

Cheers guys, the rhinos (multiples now) are great fun to paint.

The bases are polyfilla (rough texture) the whole things undercoated white, once the minis are painted the base is washed with GW Badab Black and then drybrushed with Astronomican Grey, then flocked, dead simple (has to be for the amount I plan to do! :)) )
@Warmaster Nice
The yellow/bone/colour thing is done with two coats of Gryphonne Sepia Wash and thats it. The infantry gets another thin wash of devlan mud to boost their contrast more and thats it. I love GW washes (its how I paint virtually all my epic now)
Update hopefully sometime this afternoon (well for us in OZ anyways :vD )

Olly,

Love the work mate, such detail, the chipped and stratched paintwork is awesome mate. You have set yourself a tidy some to do each month mate, hope this is pic heavy very soon. I still have those CSm characters and havocs mate if you are interested.

Thanks or the reply mate. I finally caved in and bought the Citadel wash set recently. Can't wait to try them out properly, but your stuff certainly gives me high hopes  :cool:

Once you go washes Warmaster Nice you never go back :;):
did a little bit more painting, and finished my first detachments rhinos


I've made the microdamage a bit finer as I thought the previous chipping was a bit too blocky, and also highlighted the chaos stars to make them more visible and denote the various detachments (green, grey, blue etc...)
more soon as I've currently got 5 more dreads, 2 defilers, 7 more marine stands and 12 stands of bikers in the works, but I'm too busy doing uni assignments and watching top gear+red vs blue :vD

2nd pics quite dodgy for some reason
I have work,uni and training now so no painting until tomorrow sometime which will hopefully be the infantry and defilers done *hopefully*
