If we start August as the first month (as last year), then Sunday 1st August start I guess :) with first 500 points painted by Tues 31st August

So to recapitulate, starting from August (i.e.next Sunday) each participant has to assemble and paint 500 points of Epic scale troops for a valid force each month, for four subsequent months (or more, at the participant's discretion); start a thread in the appropriate forum; and take pics of the stuff; with interesting banter being appreciated, correct?

One slight query - 500 points based on current EA rule revisions?

An extra challenge (optional): one themed objective marker per month, or one themed piece of terrain over 4 months. Anyone up to it?

Yup current NetEA lists makes the most sense to me.

Definitely up for the objective marker thing!

And definitely up for it!

Can we get a TOEG sub-forum set up?
I mean, there's an Epicomp sub-forum...

Personally I'd say whatever list you like. My aim to be able to use my nid's for netEA, French or Jeridans lists so I can make a decision which one I like the best.

Makes no sense to build to a list knowing your never going to play it that way.

I agree with Mephiston, I'll use the EA army lists but I think any player should be able to refer to the army list of his choice. I don't think that would be a great issue.

The main thing is to get stuff painted and posted, after all :)

Also makes a lot of sense. No reason not to make an EpicUK list too, of course. We ain't racist here.

But I'll be doing NetEA Orkses. :-)

Agree with Mephiston - I don't play EA, and I'm not sure the Squats are well represented in that anyway.

I think that some sort of model guidline might be more helpful? For example, 10-20 infantry, or 3-6 tanks, or a Titan-sized unit? Or even just let people put a list up in their first post of what they are going to paint, and let them chop it up into chunks as they see fit, completing one chunk a month?

The purpose of this (I assume) is to get people painting and posting nice pix, all the while with encouragement and helpful suggestions from onlookers as appropriate? If so, does it matter too much exactly what they paint as long as is reasonable? <shrugs>

If we're going to be doing fixed formations, I may just run a plog in the Epic 6mm area instead. :(

For those that don't play EA, I'd suggest something like:

The EA players are aiming to paint 500pts per month for four months.
2000pts is the smallest recommended size you'd play Epic at (3000pts being the standard tournament size).

So, pick the smallest size you'd play Sm1/2, Titan Legions/ Netepic / Pop-up-pirate at, cut it into 4, and paint a quarter of the army per month?

You're free to paint more than that if you like, as the 500pts of EA is the minimum expectation.

Yeah, that sounds like a good plan to me.

I think it'd be around 1500 points for E40k, so 375pts a month. That is about 20 Infantry, 10 Tanks, 3 Superheavies or a Titan... So it seems good to me.

Or one month for the pirate and 4 swords, one month for the barrel, and ten more swords in each of the remaining 2 months.

And I had to look up Pop-up-pirate too, although to be fair I correctly suspected what it could be :(

I am in. This sounds like just the right thing to motivate me through my next project. Is the start date still Aug 1st? Will there be a common post for all participants or one post for each participant?
