Really like the old dreads , i picked up a few cheap yesterday and im just wondering whether to use those or newer style ones.

I must admit ive always ignored washes and just used watered down paint, i think you may have just convinced me otherwise though

Well rainy weather means no training for me, which means more painting! Finished my first retinue, 3 defilers, 2 detachments of bikers and began on my nurgle titan (yet to decide wether warlord or reaver)




Opinions on the titan? He's on a 60mm base, he's no where near tall enough for a warlord (about reaver height) but he's got at least double the bulk of a reaver! I'm leaning towards warlord but would love to get some ideas (he's not quite finished yet)

as far as reaver or warlord, which ever one you will field the most. that thing needs to be played as often as possible. looking great.

Interesting that you've mixed the newer Chaos Space Marine models with the older Renegades and Imperial Marines. I had been planning to do that until I got some of the Chaos models, and concluded they were way too big. Yours look fine, though, so maybe I'd have got away with it after all. Too late now anyway, I suppose.

Some great-looking models, there. That titan is very interesting. Looking forward to seeing it painted.

Yeah. I'd go for Warlord. I think it could use just a bit more nurglification and also a few more bits to suggest this is a mechanical construction. Perhaps the arm holding the sword could be modified. Some pistons or bits of guitarwire along with some fleshy bits or bubols sculpted from green stuff would probably be enough I think. Also soe belching exhaust pipes on the back would look cool. I'm sure ther must be some suitable ork bits around for that. Looking forward to seeing this beastie painted

I would think Warlord based on bulk but then if I was you I would field it as whatever suits your list most.

I don't actually think it needs too much more in terms of nurglification.  I think painting will create focal points on the model and acheive much more than adding any extra parts to it.

CSM bikers come in formations of 8 bases don't they?  What does the second base with Jetbike conversions represent in each formation?

Epic- A version of the game with even smaller models that is often dominated by titans which are vehicles the size of a large building and have the ability to pwn...everything. There is also infantry, whose only function in Epic is to provide valuable traction to Titans walking across snowy paths.

@Axel, The marines mix suprisingly well, more of a lack of models that inspired it though
@Mark, yep formations of 8 the jetbikes represent my lack of models my excuse is the bikes could potentially represnt any champions or other characters besides the lord as necessary (thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it )

The titan is indeed from rackham but is sadly no longer in production, though a few shops still have them (demon tower of mid-nor for the name) As I suck at micro modelling I won't be adding pistons and mechanica (I like the castle theme) I will have a play with some exhaust stacks for the back as I should have some bitz about, should hopefully get it painted up within the next few hours

Well after a couple hours of painting and reading Dune (awesome book, I'm amazed I haven't had it forced on me before ) I've finished the Nurgle Warlord, added a few chimneys before applying the paint from the previous pic.




and thats my first 2000pts done, but I will probably paint up another couple of retinues and some havocs for this month as well, before my pustulent hover scouts arrive
