They werent an abused unit in Space Marine.... first, anyone on first fire could shoot at them. IIRC correctly wasn't it only units on FF within 25cm of their landing zone? And I can attest to them being heavily abused....why was it just about every tournament army which could use SM allies took a ...

As long as you agree up front, local interpretation that allows chain shot to knock down a 'Nid titan seems fine to me. The original wording was mainly there so it wouldn't work against Gargants IIRC. I'd also suggest as Hawkman notes a chain shot probably wouldn't worry an Imperator too much either...

The SM2 version of the T-Hawk was Uber broken. Cheap and almost impossible to kill. Late game objective snatcher, or combined with the even more abusive drop pods, part of the "I'm not placing any units on the table...you set up" army.

Yup, you only have to be touched by a Doomweaver template, not 50% coverage.

1) if it is not infantry, knight, titan it is vehicle. See where the unit is listed in the codex. Even 'Nids are listed as vehicles.

2) No, they are mechanical.

3) Yup.

4) Model is model. One thing...one stand or infantry, one vehicle, one titan.

Yes, the assumption is the target needs legs, but the Nid titans have 4 so wouldn't be effected by the chainshot (to the same extent a Imperial/Eldar/Slann one would), hence humanoid.

Not sure I've ever seen the old Tactica used as a setter of precedence :) The deep strike rules are a poor way to represent this should we choose to do so. They do not cover the bredth of possibilities the tunneler rules do. If we did decide that this was indeed an intentional move, then perhaps a m...

Remove the deep strike bit from the Squat unit and Imperial Hellbore descriptions. The Tunneler rules are far more comprehensive for the situation. Also for completeness and avoidence of confusion, remove the word tunneling from the teleport and deep strike description box.

There are some limits (Unique for example, need for company cards, minions for a GD), but for the most part army construction is quite free form. Take as many Dark Reapers as you like....I think you'll quickly find they are a liability giving up 3 VPs for only 2 infantry stands killed :) There were ...
