Quote (Baduin @ 03 Feb. 2006 (01:56))Or, for example: Sacred Relics The remains of a destroyed Titan would be of a great use to an enemy. When an AMTL Ordinatus or a Battle Titan (not Warhound) is destroyed mark in some way place where the wreckage lies. AMTL player must hold all wreckage objectives...

Quote (Baduin @ 02 Feb. 2006 (22:02))A simple way to increase importance of non-Titan units in AMTL army An army-list special rule Unstoppable Advance The doctrine of Titan Legions stresses that Titans should always manouver offensively tactically, regardless of the general strategic situation. They...

Wait, I thought you could have as many "landing zones" as you had detachments. I.e. each detachment that drop pods picks its own LZ. That has to be right, because otherwise 2 planetfalling landing craft would have to land in the same place (roughly), and that's not how we've played it. Am I wrong? I...

I think one things that hasn't been mentioned is the prcticality of larger bugs, from a real-life perspective. I've been checking eBay off-and-on for the last few months, looking to pick up some tyranid infantry sprues, but they are really hard to get. There are far more big bug blisters available t...

Quote (Baduin @ 31 Jan. 2006 (17:24))When we are speaking about rules review, what about introducing the following special rule for Titan class war-engines. Crippled A titan-class war-engine which has lost half or more of its DC is crippled. It receives -1 to activation. Additionally, it cannot marc...

Quote (Pariah Press @ 26 Jan. 2006 (08:53))Quote (semajnollissor @ 23 Jan. 2006 (16:44))I'm not sure what the SM changes are going to be, but I would suggest at least this simple addition: Add a new character called "marine sargeant" or "veteran marine sargeant" - either will work. Give this charact...

Well, here is where I'm coming from: I want to be able to play a pure SM list, and have it be viable. Drop Pods go a long way to help with this, since they are the only unique mechanical advantage the SM's have over other armies. But, drop pod armies fall flat against large groups of titans. I usual...

Perhaps someone should make a new GT scenario that is more fair to all armies. That would sure save all the trouble that would be caused by having to "fix" all of the army lists.

All I know is that 2 quake cannons + carapace landing pad = bad day for marines. I think doing what you describe would be a difficult feat to pull off. The main problem being that when, once you've moved everyone into position to eliminate the first titan, those detachments are left wide open to des...

I would suggest using the older, lasgun carrying guardians as a basis for the conversion. Doing that would allow you to skip the gun-barrel replacement step. You might still want to add something to the lasguns to make them look right, like a bayonet blade or a strip along the top of the barrel. Any...

Okay, so accepting that SM forces can rely on Land Speeders to effectively take on a titan, how would you suggest that an all-SM army take on an AMTL army with multiple titans + assorted other junk? I don't think that more than 2 Land Speeder detachments in a tourney-sized list is realistic, but aga...

Wait a minute, Blarg, aren't 3 x TK(D3) attacks better than 1 x TK(D6)? The average TK damage for the AMTL version is 5 TK damage vs 2.92 for the rulebook version. Not only that, both the damage probability distribution curve and the absolute max damage is better for the AMTL version. Also, the curr...

Well, not actually having played with or against this list, I would say the main problem with 1+ inititaive wildrider formations is that you can give them a Farseer. That means they are 1+ init, even when retaining. Take away the Farseer upgrade, and maybe some of the unit size upgrades, and then it...

Quote Are you sure about this? The Wraithlord is the only Eldar AV unit which doesnt have an AP weapon on it. You seem to be approaching this from the flip side that I am. I looked at the Fire Prism and wondered if this was really the best AT platform that the Eldar would field. Well, true enough, t...

Well, I don't think that an Eldar player actually pays any points for the Falcons' transport capacity when he takes a Falcon Troupe. The points only "work" in GT scenarios, and in those scenarios the Falcons in Troupes can't use their capacity. Also, Falcons (and other guardian-based units) aren't s...
