OK folks I need some community input. I've known from the start that I wanted to use squadron colors on the Thunderbolt flight and while I am in a holding pattern waiting on a shipments of paints I should tackle some of this. Instead of the common style of either just the wing tips and/or a tail &qu... |

This stuff? http://www.firestormgames.co.uk/3302 Yeah that stuff is expensive as hell but cool as crap. they sell it in spray on form and in liquid bottle (i use both). The spray is good for a light protective coat for acrylics and the latter goes on for touch ups (say if yu go back and pick out mo... |

yeah beetle backs are hard (unless you want to sink tons of time into them doing a fine blending job which probably accounts for why I don't use them-Lucius are just so much easier that way :D). Here's a few small quick things that might help break that up: 1. Paint the skull on the Aquila a differe... |

So that the Ultra DeathStrike Configuration? Actually she's a good save and glad to see an old beetleback get some much needed love. Pick out a few details and give her a REALLLLY good hit of DulCoat and those lines will not be as dramatic. |

I was tempted by this Xmarx-GeoDome but am not sure if its too "retro". ::) I've got a few X-MARX items and while I've seen plenty of resin that is better, they're of a decent quality enough and come at a fantastic price point (he's actually got an ebay storefront I've snagged them direct... |

It surprisingly effective. Grey basecoat + thinned out green wash, dry, wash with badab black = IG happiness |

A let us not forget that a 1000 battle brothers is an ideal not a requirement (at the 1001st they don't say, "sorry but we're all full at the moment"). Numbers go up and down due to losses and recruitment and "siring" new chapters. Some are noted as being in the many thousands (B... |

Hearing great stuff about the Army Painter Soft Tone and Dark Tone inks (read close to the old GW sepia and devlan mud uses). I've ordered some so I'll paint a patch and post comparison when it comes in.
NOTE: we're talking about the INK not the QUICKSHADE here. Two completely different products. |

Not a proxy per say but I went out on a limb and snagged the Spartan Games Military Installations package from Firestorm Armada and I have to say I'm impressed. It is a HUGE collection of bitz that you can use (far more than their pic lets on). 2 thumbs up. Here's a comparison pic on some of the com... |
