Also in attendance are Dire Avengers, Doomweavers and Wave Serpents which carry a detachment of Striking Scorpions. They will be looking to take on the Imperial Guards' Orgyn and Beastmen detachm... |

Centre Flank Deployment The Eldar place less emphasis on the centre flank; some Tempests are backed up by Deathstalker Prism Cannon, 2 Vibro-Cannon detachments and a Warlock. In the strongpoint, the IG have a formidable amount of firepower on display, with the following companies ready to defend the... |

The battle ended up being a real epic (pun intended!) played over Friday evening and then the next morning. This meant there was not time enough to play 2 battles so only one battle report will follow. The light in my flat isn't particularly brilliant so I apologise for the quality of many of the pi... |

A Strongpoint to be by-passed ... Nicely done regardless ... 8) Cheers Legion, glad you thought my work wasn't too sloppy! You're completely right of course, in any normal game you'd ignore the strongpoint, but my intention is to use the strongpoint only in attack/defend scenarios where it can't be... |

The finished article. Other than a few hills, I hadn't had any real experience in building stuff from stratch. I'm pleasantly surprised with the result. A big tip of the hat goes to the chap in the Glasgow Games Workshop who recommended using the rinse paint (or whatever it's called!), it really mad... |

A grass covering is glued to the top of the base and then cut to size. The armadillo sits on top. This is how troops can access the top level of the installation (as well as by the staircase). The fortress building, entrenchments for vehicles, and bunkers for infantry are placed on the model. |

Next up, a paint rinse is applied (hand-painted). This has the effect of really showing up the detail of the "rock" surface... |

Same effect on the armadillo. I've painted the supports silver as well but am less pleased with the outcome. (I may yet repaint these black.) |

The exit tunnel was painted black. Now with a load of silver paint it's supposed to give the tunnel a look of having being built with aluminium. |

Some hand-painted detailing. (Also, I had added in pieces of plastic sprue that represent steel beams supporting the overhang). |

2 coats of spraypaint later... Note also more recycling of toilet roll to form an entrance to go on top of the base (bottom left). The structure is inspired not by the Sydney Opera House, but the Glasgow Armadillo. |
