Cheers demonkin Finished some sentinels: http://zedmeister.co.uk/resimg/sentinelsquad1.jpg I enjoyed painting these. They were quite simple. I tried a few experiments with weathering that didn't turn out quite right. I attemped to give the impression of oil and grease around the joints and some stre...

I like using warmaster bases for command units, with about 4 per base. You can spend a bit more time modelling some scenery onto them such as sand bags, collapsed walls, paving slabs, etc.

I always think horde armies always look better when they are tightly packed together on a small base.

After all the frankly breathtaking models that have been appearing here over the years, I've been inspired to start posting (a most likely infrequent) log of assorted Epic goodness! I've been recently refurbishing (re: stripping and cleaning up) old models as well as grabbing some new stuff. My firs...

Stonking! Really nice paintwork and I love old school Epic.

Also, am curious as to how you achieved the nice bevel on the bases? Are these pre-made or a custom job?

Feel that blast of wind? Thats the collected sigh of relief of most Epic players!

One wonders if they actually follow through with any of the suggestions people give or even read them?

Quote: (Evil and Chaos @ 13 Mar. 2009, 13:31 ) The only have one Tyranid model currently (The Harridan). The others were destroyed in a molding accident. No doubt, we're as likely to see the harridan come back as we are the epic tank factory   Out of curiosity, what models were lost? I ass...

I play it. It's a cracker of a game and very addictive. The ships and weapon option are pretty extensive (from frigates, cruisers, battleships). You've got loads of careers. Here's a few: Pirate - pray on others in low sec Bounty Hunter - Hunt people for cash Business man - manipulate the markets to...

I've bought a few guard pieces off him. I doubt very much they are recasts. They're mint and have none of the usual signs of being a recast; blown models, twin moldlines, etc.

Quote: (Dwarf Supreme @ 17 Feb. 2009, 16:37 ) There is precedent for this view. When 2nd edition SH was out, my nephew worked part time at a GW store. The staff was pushing SH as a great way for 40k players to get a lot of Termies and Stealers dirt cheap compared to buying them in blisters. His...

Quote: (CyberShadow @ 17 Feb. 2009, 10:29 ) Current additional rumours.... To stop this box eating into current sales of figures, this is rumoured to be pre-painted (unlikely) and/or at a different scale (15mm? More likely). Ugh, that is such a cop-out if true. This could be used as a brilliant...

Thinking about this some more (and if it is released and turns out to be a success) it could be a template for a re-release of Warhammer Quest. Another game that goes for ridiculous amounts on fleecebay.

Oooo, Oooo, happy times. GW doing something of worth! I wonder if the board sections will be produced in plastic, Mighty Empires style. That'd be brilliant, the ability to build your own spacehulk and style it.

Also, I wonder if we'll see the return of genestealer hybrids as well? Good times!
