True, but we do have Emissaries and Orca drop ships from it, so it can be considered slightly canon. ;) However I agree with you, even the fire warrior ones weren't dumb enough to have 'space jets' and instead had a massive rocket pack on the back. It would be unusual for the tanks to go out in thei... |

I'm looking in IA3, and the emissary has launch bays big enough for two Mantas...this is the official list for the CPF isn't it? |

Quote (Shinnentai @ 28 Nov. 2005 (22:33))By 'grav craft' I thought you meant Hammerheads etc? I guess I misinterpretted. Actually I did, though I was referring to BFG 'low orbit' which is really high altitude. But I don't think hammerheads and the like would have much of a problem - if a sentinels G... |

Presumably it uses its grav generators in space like the rest of the Tau fleet, I don't see it having a problem at high altitude |

Looks like all of the Kor'or'vesh ships can probably handle an atmosphere, given far as the Tau are concerned the Manta is probably part of it. Seeing as all of the capital ships have launchbays I don't see why though wouldn't enter low orbit/high atmosphere and let the various grav craft leave thro... |

Just wanted to point out that the past several weeks of slowing down in playtesting could be due to an end of the holidays. Still if anything it encourages us to get this sorted out before Christmas when those of us who are away for the time being can get back to doing what we are supposed to be (wh... |

Can't really see them as a unit in epic - forcing a unit to possible recieve blastmarkers to get rid of a dangerous unit that is completely uneffected by anything thrown at it until distruction seems a little unfair. IA3 says they are the equivalent of a Tau minefield - wouldn't it be better approac... |

Thats without even bringing drones into it (mine are 5 to a base, but with two drones). I could see a reduction in armour though if we are having the inclusion of drones bring them to Infantry. Though if oblitoraters are staying Infantry and Ravenors 3 to a base (rather than 5/6) then I suppose they... |

Seems to me, if the markerlight is the thing actually firing the missile - they can't fire unguided but instead are just an AT weapon on the firewarriors (calling them in from tanks, off field bases, small satellites with seeker racks) then it makes sense to have them being supressed and as a weapon... |

Its a shame that we don't actually know what the mainline Tau auxiliary force is, the codex mentions that they fight around a battle line of auxiliaries with the cadres striking behind enemy lines or similar. With the way both the codex and IA3 talk about the uses of Kroot I can't see them in this r... |

Whilst on the name, I think Narhal is too well known for its long tusk which this doesn't have - if there was a Heavy Rail varient then fair enough. Perhaps Porpoise, Humpback (the drop ship does have a hump) or Beluga? Not sure on dauphan, seeing as there isn't any other french names and isn't it a... |

I always assumed the Moray was a scout titan rather than a superheavy tank (the fact it has a shield, Imperial ones seem larger due to their extra shields whilst their DC is the same as a superheavy. Its also the same price as a warhound and 50pts more than a shadowsword (which as you said is better... |

I expect most people are waiting until the new book comes out so we can see what changes are needed to bring it back in line with 40K, seems a fair few potential list changing ones rumoured (Vespids, Stealths with different weapons, Raildrones, SMS Devilfish) |
